Start of another week, and the goal is always the same, to come out on the plus side. Picks for tonight are as follows:
$1000 Lakers -5.5
Lakers finally seem to be hitting their stride and are 4-1 SUATS, since Mike Woodson was fired. D'Antoni makes his coaching debut tonight so expect a lot of energy from the Lakers. The Nets are in the midst of a 5 game winning streak, but it has been against very light competition and 4 of them at home. The Lakers are always better when they play at the Staples center and the place should be pretty energetic tonight with the new coach. This should transfer to the players a bit and elevate their game, and especially defensive efforts. The Nets have only played one winning team on the road this year. That was the Heat in Miami. They lost by 30. Now they prolly won't lose this by 30 because the Lakers are not at the level of the heat, but I would be surprised if they don't win by 10+ here. Lay the points with the Lakers tonight. Should be a fun game to watch as I expect the Lakers to score a bunch. Lakers win 107-95.

UNC has way too much size and athletic ability for Butler is this game. UNC will dominate the boards. They are 4th so far in rebounding compared to 207th for Butler. Now it is early in the year, but that is a glaring mis-match in the making. UNC wins 82-65 |

Normally I would be a little hesitant laying this many with the Lakers, because their bench has not been very good this year. But the Nets only really have one threat off the bench as well in Marshawn Brooks, but his minutes are still limited after coming back from an injury around a week ago. Blatche for the nets had a good game off the bench last game but that was against the Kings. He will prolly shoot around 2/3 for 10 tonight, I know him well because of his days with the Wizards. The lakers bench has played a lot better since the firing OT Mike Brown and Kobe Bryant looks more comfortable than early in the season. I'm feeling pretty confident in the Lakers based on how well Kobe looks. Plus the coaching debut as I mentioned before, the Lakers will want to put up as many points as possible tonight. I don't see the Nets matching the intensity. As for the size of your bet, I'd go half your max, don't reach just for one play, there is always a chance to lose. Slow and steady wins the race in the end. There will be plenty more opportunities and better plays to put more $$ on this week, and the rest of the year.

$300 Georgetown +9 After watching these two teams last night, I was very impressed what I saw from Georgetown defensively. Indiana on the other hand struggled against their first decent competition of the year. Georgetown has length and size in their frontcourt and use this to their advantage by going to a zone defense. It will be interesting to see if Indiana and Cody seller can score effectively against them. GT also has a star in their own right in Porter. He took over the game last night against a very talented UCLA team. So if need be he can take the game into his hands. Georgetown should be highly competitive tonight. Look for a close game. Indiana wins 70-65
