I'm taking one side and one total tonight. But beware! Last year, I swept the board in the WNBA covers contest ending #1 in both sides and totals. My sides are solid, but the totals have left me hanging, and honestly has me a bit perplexed. I sit 18-9 on sides, (17th nationally), but an embarrassing record (12-15 ytd) on sides. Its time to turn the totals debacle around!
Congratulations to most of the posters who have posted in the WNBA forum this season. Most of you have turned a mediocre or subpar first week around over the 7-10 days. Keep up the great analysis and discussion in this forum.
Wishing everyone best of luck moving forward.
Now to the picks tonight:
PICK# 1- Over 161 CHICAGO/MINNESOTA
Minny has gone over the total all season (4-0). My only concern here is Minny has gone under 8 of the last 10 games that they allowed 90+ points. Enter Chicago, fresh off their first win of the season over previously undefeated Seattle. To me, Minny is the hungrier team in this spot, and should dictate the pace. Knowing that both Minnesota home games have covered the over by double digits is reason enough to believe this one goes over the total as well.
PICK #2- TULSA SHOCK +7
I have yet to be impressed with Indiana this year. The Fever have gone 1-6 ATS in their last 7 on the road. Add in the fact that I see little motivation in this spot after a home and home series against their local rival Chicago. If Indy enters a game flat, tonight fits the bill. On the other hand, Tulsa should be very motivated in this spot. Now that all their "new town, new arena, new team" hoopla has subsided, it's time to play ball. To get this squad at home after a home pasting on national TV (ESPN) is just the right time for this group to put it together. There may not be a better situational spot for the Shock the rest of the season. I'll take the touchdown and call for the possible outright win tonight.
