Nevada books won 7.9% out of $138.5 million wagered on Super Bowl LI, they took in the profit of $10.9 million.

Contrast to common believe, Vegas books are the winners again.

Europa, they almost always make some money, just a matter of how much.  This time with more of the public on Patriots and over, they probably made most of that on prop bets.  It took that miracle comeback and OT for that to happen, otherwise they would have made much more, perhaps double, believe me you'd want to be backing public action, even if you lose a little some of the time.

From what i've read in the Vegasinsider, sharps are on Atlanta and Under. So, it appears that public beats sharps in this one.

Yep, I heard that too, if you think about it, those were really the right plays, it took Falcon screw-ups for the sharps to lose those bets.  I did bet the Pats and small under, and I give the Pats great credit for their comeback, but never should have had the chance.....

Smart money doesn't bet so quit acting like there are expert coin toss predictors out there. This whole sharps and squares thing is only a figment in the imaginations of people who'd like to think they are"sharps"

It's comical

I'm with you. This whole notion of "sharp" and "square" plays is ridiculous. There are no sharp and square plays, there are only winning and losing plays. If a "sharp" loses a play, was it still sharp? The notion of "sharp" plays is like that little screen they have next to roulette wheels now. It tricks dipsh#ts into thinking their is some pattern, some code to bust to make them forget they're playing a game as random as flipping a coin. There are obviously some genius minded top notch cappers out there. And yes, they are at times going to see things that maybe the general public misses and make so called "sharp" plays accordingly. But this notion that there is some bildeberg style group that have all the answers and are almost always right is just psycology. It makes people think that if they can get on the "sharp" side then they'll have some kind of advantage.

Vegas cleaned up on all of the clueless squares taking Falcons moneyline.  Talking to a book manager in town, he said they took in a ton from Joe Public on Falcons straight up. Sharps were all over Patriots -3. Vegas won, but not a big amount this time around

VEGAS AND THE ONLINE SPORTSBOOKS WILL ALWAYS CLEAN UP ON SUPER BOWL, REGARDLESS IF IT'S A LITTLE OR A LOT. UNTIL THESE FOOLS REALIZE HOW THE GAME GOES, HOUSE ALWAYS WINS.

Books will almost always win in SB even when they lose on the game which they have done many times because of all the props which are easy winners for the book.

Many prop bets have 8 or 10 catagories but only 1 can win that makes 7 or 8 or 9 losers or whatever it may be but there will always be far more losing catagories then winning ones.

And the books will make the most unlikely winning catagories huge +odds and the ave joe will bet these huge +odds to try and get a big score from little money bet.

It all equals a big win for books.

The other thing is remember all the big fix is in talk before championship games on how league and/or vegas wanted Rodgers VS Brady because nobody would watch/bet Ryan VS Brady

Well a record handle was taken-in for the Ryan VS Brady SB, so much for all the quess work fix is in crowd......................

7.9% profit margin isn't too bad for the books. But the main point is the common believe, many people think public wins and Vegas loses.
