Only way I would do it if I did is the depth chart of QBs and other important positions.. with Brady suspended who the heck does New England have.. and maybe teams with tight #1 QB competition.. like Cleveland Denver etc..

Usually during the 4th week of the preseason the starters have a chance to play more because they eliminated most of the players trying out for a spot.

it really helps if you watch the local preseason shows or read the local newspapers it takes a little more research cause most people are still watching baseball

Huh? Starters barely play at all during the 4th week. 3rd week is the week where starters play the entire first-half.

The starters big week is week three, they go into the 3rd Q, and the fourth week the don't play much due to coaches fear injuries, that's my take.

Forgot to add, they don't play much in week 4 like said above due to fear of injuries, because week 1 of the reg. season is up next, and the last thing they want is a stupid injure be for the season opener, ff

Preseason is all about QB depth chart, if you have a rookie going up against a veteran backup, go with the back up vet. Also a new HC will want to see his starters at least for a quarter r maybe even a half.
I personally played Pitt -3. I'm betting L. Jones and B. Gradkowski against D. Orlovsky and J. Rudock
Also Cleveland +1 new coach and QB will want to see his system ran by the starters for at least a Q or a half

You really only want to bet dogs on the ML. Certainly nothing that involves juice.
There's a long-held theory that home dogs are best, because those teams are trying to build excitement and put on a show to get paying fans hyped up for the coming year. I agree to an extent, but you find that that translates more into trying to build a highlight reel for the night's wrap- than a team genuinely trying win the game.
Games, particularly the first halves, also contain a lot of pre-scripted drives. Teams are trying out different personnel in different schemes, using 'game conditions' to work on specific scenarios, etc. This is often independent of trying to keep drives alive, because they're working out scenarios, not trying to win here.
As a general rule, you don't want to bet on teams who care less about winning the game than you do. But if you're looking for action, as preseason as heads or tails as it gets, betting any line that returns more than 1/1 on your money can never be truly awful.
