I am a Denver homie and I totally admit it but this team is loaded to go right back.
If anyone feels that Manning at 39 was better than Sanchez, they are dreaming. Manning was absolutely terrible last year and could not lead a TD scoring drive to save his life. Osweiler was decent but was not the savior, Sanchez is terrible, there is no doubt but he is about the same as the 39 year old gimp that led this team to the SB.
Also, I am not sure Siemian will not lead this team come the regular season or Lynch, Sanchez is not a lock.
The Defense comes back pretty much intact. They lost Malik and Trevethian and that is about it. They drafted a replacement for Malik ( who will be an obvious downgrade) and Trevethian has been hurt much of the last two years and they were able to replace him fine. Brandon Marshall has filled the role great and the Broncos I think even gave him a raise. You have the number 1 Defense in the league with 9 of 11 starters returning and the CB Roby is having the best camp of any of the DB's, that means the secondary will be improved over what was the best in the league last year. I say it again, the secondary will be even better than last year. That means you can blitz freely and rush Von and DeMarcus (who is not 100% right now I assure you) with an extra LB. S H IT Qb's are going to get killed by this team!
Remember the O Line last year was in shambles most of the season. They had injuries and were constantly moving people around . Broncos landed their number 1 FA in Okung and get Ty Sambrallo back. Paradis played every game at Center last year. That leaves one guard and one tackle open . They signed a decent tackle from KC (stephenson) and they will have open competition for the guard spot. I think overall, the O Line will be much improved this year.
One final thing, remember this name come fantasy time, Juwan Thompson, if he can stay healthy this year he may go for 1000 yards, the kid can totally tote the rock. He is by far the best back on the roster and if healthy, should be the starter.
Crash, with all due respect, you are really looking through the eyes of a homer. This offensive line will be much improved? This unit is TERRIBLE.
LT Russel Okung is completely average
LG Ty Sambrailo played only 212 snaps but committed 6 blown blocks on passing snaps. I remember the KC game, he didn't stand a chance. Now he should be better after injury w/o further experience? He was on pace for a bottom-15 finish on PFF's tackle list
C Matt Paradis solid starter
RG Max Garcia? Michael Schofield? Connor McGovern? Wouldn't be optimistic about anyone of these
RT Donald Stephenson was one of the worst tackles in the league. PFF graded him as the 69th-best tackle out of 77 qualifying. Per the FOA, KC ranked 28th in the league when running over his side (2.4 adj line yards).
This line combined with the great decision maker Mark Sanchez is going to be a nightmare. The only upgrade over Peyton Manning is the arm strength.
They are returning 9 starters on the defensive side and Bradley Robey could finish as the best CB, but they are primed for a little regression. It's very tough to repeat all those turnover in crucial moments.
