KEY ADDITIONS:

The Colts will take the next step in this division due to an improving offense and defense. RB Ahmad Bradshaw is a major upgrade over RB Vick Ballard and the continuity with the starters will allow for more familiarity and thus more points. QB Andrew Luck will take the next step towards superstardom. NT Josh Champan, LB Jerell Freeman, and CB Vontae Davis are all solid pieces in an improving young defense. But the main thing that separates this team from the Texans is QB play. Andrew Luck is already a much better quarterback than Matt Schaub.
2.
KEY ADDITIONS:
WR DeAndre Hopkins
KEY LOSSES:
DE Connor Barwin, CB/S Glover Quin
On the account of a strong defense and running game, the Texans will be able to squeeze a wild card berth. WR DeAndre Hopkins adds another weapon to this offense. But this team faded down the stretch and I think that will carry over to this year. They aren't a powerhouse anymore, just a wild card threat. Pretty soon it will be time to look for an upgrade over QB Matt Schaub. Schaub is a decent QB but is probably in the lower-half of starters in the NFL.

KEY ADDITIONS:
OG Andy Levitre, OG Chance Warmack
KEY LOSSES:

The Titans will be a tough team to beat this year. Adding two maulers at guard will give them a formidable running game. CJ will return to form and lead the NFL in rushing. Reports from camp and preseason are saying that Jake Locker looks like a much improved passer. I believe he will do a solid job managing the game. While I expect the defense to improve, I still think they will be below-average which will hold them back from a wild card berth. But this is a decent team that will surprise some people.
4.
KEY ADDITIONS:
OT Luke Joeckel
KEY LOSSES:
Originally I thought the Jags would be one of the worst teams in the league. But their first-team looked good in the preseason and from all reports QB Blaine Gabbert looks very good. The Jags have some pieces on offense with WRs Cecil Shorts and Justin Blackmon and the return of RB Maurice Jones-Drew. Now I know Blackmon is out for the first 4 games but when he comes back he gives them another threat. This team still isn't a playoff contender because of a weak defense but I think Gabbert will make some strides and MJD will return to form. They won't be as bad as people think. Add in the fact that OT Luke Joeckel really helps solidify their offensive line and they could surprise some teams.

WOW, you have a number of surprises.
I think it's somerthing like roughly about 50% of teams that made the playoffs the past year won't make it the next year.
There have been many cases of last to 1st in the division in recent years, like the Skins did last year, and last to making the playoffs like the Colts did last year.
One thing we should know is there will be surprises this season.
I agree Detroit could be a surprise team, not sure if they can win division but the playoffs could be possible, and I agree the Vikes fall back.
Carolina was a much better team then their record showed last season, I would expect them to be better.
I can't see Seattle at 9-7 and below the Rams in the division.
The Colts are the - LARGEST REGRESSION TO THE MEAN TEAM - I've ever seen coming into a new seasons.
The Colts are not even close to being as good as their 11-5 record.
They recieved an incredible amount of luck and I don't mean Andrew Luck, in key points of games last season.
Colts are the only team in history to win 11 games and be out-scored on the year. Not a good indication for the Colts this season.
Colts were likely the worst statistical team to ever make the playoffs, again this does not bode well for the Colts.
Colts played a last place shcedule last season and played statistically weak against weak teams, playing weak against weak teams - is the kiss of death in the NFL - and I strongly suspect that will be proven again by the Colts this season..........................
