Niners defense is good.  That said, one of the problems they may have is defending the spread.  I have read that the Niners were in a "prevent defense" during the NE game.  This is not true.  Tom Brady went into a hurry up and that Niners defense got very tired.

The only way you can run the hurry up and be successful is by having a dead accurate QB w 3 to 4 Wrs with "sure" hands.  This keeps the chains moving and the defense on the field limiting substitutions.  1 incomplete pass with destruct this plan.

All that said, I go back to the game when the Texans played GB.  Aarron Rodgers came out on fire running the hurry up and the Texans had no answer for him.  I think that is what GB will do.  If people on this site know that Aaron Rodgers was the most sacked QB in the NFL, don't you think GB understands that, along with the defensive front they are going against?

Trust me.  GB will have a plan.  And I wouldn't be shocked at all if they come out running the hurry up, getting the ball out quick, making short passes, getting that defense running around, getting them tired.  I think they will use that NE second half as a key film, getting the mismatches they like.  Again, this all predicated on Rodgers being accurate & catches being made.

First I am a huge packers fan and have watch every game. I will not be biased and tell it how I see it. I respect that you think Cobb is there 4th best receiver, but that is very wrong. Cobb is very explosive and someone you want to get the ball to as much as possible. he creates matchup problems all over. On the other side of that having Jennings back does decrease the amount of targets for Cobb obviously and thats always going to happen. I wouldnt even rank the receivers because they are all used for different purposes and different formations, plays etc. I see this game being close either way it lands. Both teams have there flaws and it comes down to who executes better. I do feel like the packers have a great shot to pull one off honestly and thats not being biased, not sure if I could say the same if the packers play the broncos.

THEY WEREN'T IN PREVENT.  THEY STARTED OUT IN MAN COVERAGE. . .31-3.  WENT INTO ZONE DEFENSE 3RD QUARTER. . .31-31.  WENT BACK TO MAN 41-31 FINAL.

NINER D PLAYS BEST AGAINST SPREAD.  WHERE THEY HAVE TROUBLE IS AGAINST POUND EM TEAMS. . .SEE RAMS, SEAHAWKS AND VIKINGS GAME.  ADD GIANTS AS WELL.

Can you name other teams that have been 4 years in a row during this time???

Without looking it up, Im guessing just NE....maybe Atl....its not that easy to do

Wow, 4 years in a row

Baltimore 2008-2012
New England (2003-2007 and 2009-2012)
Indy (2002-2010)
Packers (2009-2012)
NY Giants (2005-2008)
Seattle (2003-2007)

Yes, while it is not an easy thing to do, however, In the last 10 years, these teams above have also been in the playoffs for 4 or more years in a row.

Your elite fudge packers are not alone in this accomplishment

Well, I think you proved my point.

The guy said lets not make them some sory of juggernaut....

Seeing your post, it seems only 3 other teams have done it during that time...so its obviously not that easy

You posted a WHOOPING 6 teams that have done it in the last 10 years

Man, you sure are a bitter Giants fan

Not my fault that Giants cant even make the playoffs after winning it all

GB won it all, then went 15-1 and a divisional round, followed by another division title and divisional round appearance

Maybe next year GMen

I still love your previous post, crying all I do is make excuses.....which i did for 1 game this year .....yet followed to state the only reason GB won last week, and the only reason they will win this week is because they arent playing the Giants

Your anger has clouded your education

I agree, Cobb is very explosive when he gets the ball: whether it be kick/punt returns or receptions. But he has shown to drop some key passes. Okay maybe I'm off saying he's Rodgers 4th best receiver, but I think we can agree that Jennings & Nelson is Rodgers' go-to receivers.

But, you can keep saying the same lie in every thread thats ok

I like the Giants chances this week Oh wait  They couldnt even get into the playoffs

Such a tough guy with a keyboard you are

Yeah every other team in the playoffs let off a sigh of relief since the giants didn't make the playoffs. Your team can look in the mirror, same goes for the other "juggernauts" here in the playoffs.

Didn't even take the time to read one post in this thread..

All i saw was the Title of the thread and what a ridiculous title..

How can you watch the NFL at all and say that, and mean it.. Fine if you feel SF will win and cover, but it's an idiotic title .. Just sayin.

I am with league capper the packers have protection issues and the niners pass rush at home is tough the only way to neutralize rodgers is to get to him Packers have had protections issues all year

Caveat: I'm a diehard Packers fan.

However, I'm generally not biased and only bet GB 3-4 times a year when I have a good hunch they will cover This year I went 4-1 ATS in games I took GB (Win: Chi - 1st game, Hou, Tenn, and Minn playoff, LOSS, Minn reg season finale).

I see it as a toss up and will be a 3 point game. I just don't know who will win it. My quick breakdown.

GB clear positional advantages: QB, WR
SF clear positional advantages: OL, DL, LB, RB

Secondary: Even (SF better tackling, GB better at covering)
Special Teams: Slight edge to SF based off superb coverage units. Obviously both are weak this year at kicker.

DVOA:
Overall: SF: 4, GB: 5
Off rank: SF: 5, GB: 3
Def rank: SF: 2  GB: 8
ST rank: SF: 20, GB: 18

Bottom line, this has all the makings of a classic game. Anyone who is confident on either side is full of it. GB has their biggest advantage at the most important position on the field, which is QB (plus he has a chip on his shoulder). However, the crappy field conditions favor defense, which gives SF the advantage there.

In games that I feel are close, you take the points, BUT I don't think this is a good game to bet on the spread. I'm avoiding it. Gun to my head, GB only because I see it as a tight game. If it was in GB and they were favored by 3, I would say SF. Clearly I don't think homefield matters much in this matchup (GB won't be intimidated).

haha i dont understand all the hostility. everyone has their own opinions on how the game will turn out. i hardly think anyone is trying to sway anyone else. you post your play and then at the end, one side will look stupid. the other side will look like prophetic geniuses. let's just see what happens.

i personally like GB to win this game straight up.

GL everyone.

You failed to mention SF's protection issues. SF allowed 41 sacks this season and only 8 teams allowed more sacks in 2012.

It's amazing how he exclude certain statistics in order to make a stronger case for backing a particular wager.

* To make my previous post unbiased, I will note that Green Bay allowed 51 sacks this season in which 9 of those sacks were allowed in the first half of the Seattle game.

Green Bay has still been able to manage to score at least 21 points in 15 of 17 games this season and average 4.0 yds/carry with their "protection issues."
