#26 Posted: 11/12/2012 2:48:10 PM I'm looking for one reason not to go HUGE on the Steelers tonight. I got my behind handed to me yesterday as well. I follow my own plays...not anyone else's. But I'm on here looking for any Chiefs angle I can find to keep me off the hated Steelers. But I can't. Chiefs wanna beat Todd Haley?!? Really?? That's all anyone has got?? No garbage! They're 1-7...they wanna beat anyone for christ's sake! 2 things have me somewhat worried. Well..3. 1. Being my horrid streak yesterday. 2. Weather is nasty 3. Steelers play down to their competition. |

#29 Posted: 11/12/2012 3:01:51 PM don't feel bad...i would have a bigger payday had ackers kicked the winning fg. i knew it was a washed when they couldn't score.
as for pitt...why the love for so many pts? i am sure there are still teasers tied to pitt -2 across the nation. haha

Steelers -12.5 HUGE PLAY
Me & 49er are tied in the Hilton contest at 14-14..............
Yeah you're right about the FG miss PTB but the game should have been over before it even got to that point. I mean the ridiculous illegial formation penalty on the Rams initial series in OT, the successful FG made from 53 yards out only to be wiped out by a time count violation when in fact Fisher had a timeout he could have used, etc., etc. Hell I need the Niners on the ML and when it ended, I was most definitely glad to get that push, knowing I was fortunate. |

Only thing from here is good luck is coming.....................stay tuned.
Mods will probably say I am bashing on this post, but this isn't bashing, so see it as you will: How on Earth can you call what happened yesterday "bad luck?"
In life often times, luck is what happens based upon the decisions we make to put ourselves in situations. Make good decisions and you tend to have better luck. Place yourself in repeated bad situations and bad luck tends to find you.
What happened to you yesterday was not "bad luck." You placed a ridiculous, some might even say laughable amount of money, essentially on San Francisco -1.5. You essentially had your ENTIRE original season bankroll on one team at one time. This is not bad luck, but rather a demonstration in carelessness, impulsivness, and poor judgment. You repeatedly put yourself in positions to fail by making poor choices. You cannot tell me there is anyway you have actually ever profited if you bet like this in real life. To still be on here trying to "help" others is a farce. Any newbie looking to learn how to gamble properly, should not follow you, but instead choose the opposite methodology when wagering on sports. Selecting a game straight up ATS and betting within one's means is how to play. You claim to be "unorthodox" in your approach, but the phrasing you should use is foolish. I'm not sure how you think you are helping anyone here. To think otherwise is simply egotistical and pretentious.
Good luck with your HUGE play tonight |

#32 Posted: 11/12/2012 3:11:30 PM To summarize BigNiner:
Your future is the culmination of the decisions in your past.
I agree with BigNiner on three counts: 1) his post is not bashing; 2) You have poor money management; 3) Akers missing was not bad luck for you, it was bad luck for Akers, you had made a poor decision.

#38 Posted: 11/12/2012 3:30:32 PM Your problem isn't that you are a bad capper or have bad luck, it is that you make bad decisions. First of all, no good handicapper I know plays teasers. That is the worst bet on the board. You think that it makes it easier to win because Vegas is giving you more points for free. There is a reason they are called teasers. I am pretty sure if you look at all of your teaser bets, the teaser line did not come into play all that often. A team is either going to cover the original line or they aren't. The extra points rarely ever matter. For example, take last night's Houston Chicago game. If you take Hou +1 and the Under 41, you win both. Teasers didn't come into play except you would've cost yourself money. If you bet Hou and Under separately you win 2 bets versus playing the teaser and you only win 1 bet. If you stop playing teasers and ridiculous parlays, I believe you can win. Just my opinion, take it or leave it. Good luck tonight. I personally like KC. |

Denver homer here, but you were asking for trouble betting against a Broncos team that is improving every week. These aren't your Kyle Ortons, Plummers, or inspiring, but inferior Tebows Look for the Broncos to be serious contenders in the months and 2-3 next years with Manning in the driver's seat, |

The spread coming into play has always been around 18%...............weeks 1 through weeks 8 of this season it was over 30%, so the reason I was betting teasers..................
Good luck with the Chiefs..................... |

#42 Posted: 11/12/2012 3:45:55 PM PTB, I am not playing the game. I will be rooting for PITT for my survivor pool. To be honest, I hope you win. I usually am on the same side as you, but I am just not a big fan of teasers. I know you are a better capper than that. Just try it one week without teasers and see how you do. It's your money though so don't let me tell you what to do. Just friendly advice.
Go Steelers!! |

Please stop with the name calling. It is completely unnecessary. If you have something you would like to stay, feel free to stop by the penalty box. name calling in the mains is against the rules and a boxable offense. |

It doesn't take a Broncos homer to tell anyone that Kyle Orton or Tebow isnt Peyton Manning. Any Master of the Obvious can tell you that...
That said, most cappers were on Carolina in a spot where Denver was over valued and Carolina under valued due to public perception. In this case the spot lost, but taking the better team or "contender" that looks better to the eye will do nothing but put you in the red. If anything, look to fade Denver with some over inflated lines.
This thread is a prime example of how NOT to wager through some of the comments read. No pun intended.
