#1 Posted: 3/21/2012 2:52:15 PM He gets paid about 2 mil.
And he gets traded for a fourth rounder (a solid player) and a sixth rounder (like a long snapper or something).
Not exactly a bidding war, it appears.

Actually, no. The Jets receive a 7th round pick AND Tebow for a 6th round pick and a 4th round pick. And the teams split the less than 6 mill owed to Tebow.
Again, this says nothing about the wisdom of this deal for either club. It merely speaks to how little value the league puts on Tebow going forward. They may or may not be right.

Tony Sparano will have extra options in his playbooks by adding a wildcat/triple option QB into his squad. Like i said in other threads, Tebow can be very dangerous in key 3rd down coversions for the Jets. |

Right. My point is the league doesn't value him as a starting QB at all. Zip. In a world where Alex Smith gets 8 mil., Tebow gets traded for essentially one fourth round draft pick and pocket change.

#7 Posted: 3/24/2012 12:47:06 PM Now the Jets have sent Stanton to the Colts. They sent the 7th round pick with him in exchange for the Colts 6th round pick. So, the Tebow deal only cost them a 4th rounder, net.
That seems pretty cheap to me. Nice deal for the Jets.

#8 Posted: 3/24/2012 10:11:53 PM great deal for a starting qb in this league with a high winning pct who can only get better and is a leader. u think sanchez is a leader when you look at him in the eyes in the huddle? reminds me of my high school qb, wide eyed and scared. |

#9 Posted: 3/25/2012 8:25:00 AM At every level Tebow has been doubted and told he cannot be a winner and what does he do, he WINS more than he loses. What I see happening is the Jets are going to get the Broncos in the playoffs and it's going to be Manning kissing Tebows behind. I am a Bronco Homie. I know this day is coming. "Just the kind of guy I'd like to have marry my daughter" darn Elway! |

You have no clue what you are talking about. Tebow was a top recruit coming out of high school. The only doubt people had was if he was a NFL QB.

#12 Posted: 3/25/2012 1:49:48 PM What's interesting is that there wasn't a single team in the league that thought he was worth a shot at such a cheap price tag. No one in the NFL thinks the guy's a starting QB. No one.

Have you heard his commercial? BTW His mother was told to abort him. Is that a level? Being born? He won that doubt too! |

#15 Posted: 3/26/2012 2:48:45 PM I don't have anything against the guy, he seems to be a fine young man. But too similar to Danny Wuerffel to me. And I think that in too many of those "amazing" wins, Denver's defense did not get enough credit.

Tebow will win the Super Bowl at QB for the NY JETS. PERIOD. |

Yeah, Tebow wasn't valued at a starting QB. He could be used for up to 20 snaps in a game though, according to Rex Ryan.
“With the Wildcat specifically, the great thing is you don’t know if we’re going to run it one snap a game or 20 snaps a game." --Rex Ryan
However, i think Jets will have to improve their defense in the other side of the coin. Their lack of pass rush and weakness in safety position were exposed last year. |
