1) The total is the same as it was for the Pro Bowl! What does THAT tell you?
2) More people like to take the over than the under... meaning the total is inflated by at least a point or two...so you're already getting value with the under.

I think the colts can really grind out possessions when they want to. They throw a lot but for 3-5 yard gains.. They can literally waste an entire quarter off the clock with 1 possession against weaker defences.

Think 1st quarter is slow with teams feeling each other out. Don't see a lot of pts early and think that will set tone. See this one being 27-24 type game. 4 of last 5 game have gone under. Last year was exception. GL

it seems like these two points contradict each other... what do YOU think it means that this total is as high as the Pro Bowl?

ok here is the main reason and that was very good insight bryce with your analysis, my reason is because when you have two high powered offenses and they are all hyped up, guess what...... the DEFENSE steps it up too, even more higher, look for a middle 20's game and even a field goal might win it at the end. my final score the way i capped it with taking into the account, turnovers at least one by both sides.. 28-24 SAINTS

I think the over is inflated and everyone thinks because both teams scored a lot in playoffs and reg season that will mean high scoring super bowl. Saints D, in my opinion, will step it up today. they are probably very tired about hearing about how to stop Manning. Just my 2 cents

I ended up playing the Saints +4.5 and the UNDER 56.5 tonight. Very anxious watching how that game got a bit crazy in the 2nd half with the scoring after it was only 10-6 at the half.
New Orleans did a great job after the slow offensive start of keeping the Colts offense off the field. Up until the big Manning INT, they never really stopped the Colts offense, but Brees and the Saints offense controlled the game by keeping the ball away from them.
