i would go with Marino... but Manning isn't done yet, and he is the first guy i've ever seen that can effect a game as much as Marino did... i suspect by the time he is done i will have to change my vote to Manning...
to me... everyone else is a distant 3rd...

There is no way in hell anyone can pick "best QB of all time" reason being you must have talent around you and you must say that no body else can do what Montana did for the Niners, really? If that same Niner team had Marino, or had Johnny U or had Bradshaw, or Manning or Elway. or Brady it could of still been just as great..do you see what I am getting at? ..all the Great QB,S were just that GREAT....you cannot add to or take away .. And in any era take all the great ones and put them on any great team and they would of been just as great.
So when someone says "so and so is the Greatest because...." they don't know what they hell they are talking about and they are just trying to get their egotistical rocks off...all the great QBS would not of been great with out great receivers, great running backs, great offensive lines and with out a great defense. This is what makes a super-bowl winner. You take all the Great Super-bowl teams and put in ELWAY, JOHNNY-U, BRADSHAW, MARINO, MONTANA, MANNING , BRADY. And when they learn the system could of won with any of those teams. you would not of lost a beat.

Wallstreet... i don't base any part of my answer (and i mean none) on statistics or rings... because it is completely impossible to gauge it that way... there is no level playing field... the only way to truly compare QBs is to watch them play... to be able to see an extensive sampling of their resume...
i have seen every QB since the late 70's (Plunkett, Tarkenton, Bradshaw, Staubach) all the way through to today... i can't compare them to Unitas or Namath or Starr... but i can compare everyone else, based on the only true way to compare them... by watching them with my own eyes...
Marino was the best... hands down! until Manning came along...
i do not believe most people understand how to break down the position, so this is really a futile argument... unless you understand that the only way to compare them is with your eyes, and unless you are among the few who are capable of doing it, then it is a moot point...
