When I first looked over NFL futures, I didn't even stop to consider this, as I would never normally consider a bet with crazy juice like this....but then I started thinking about it......
New England, who should be playing with something to prove this season, since by losing the super bowl they rendered their incredible regular season meaningless, to win their division......in other words, to beat out the Jets, Buffalo and Miami.....
Is this actually possible? And I understand that in sports anything is possible, but IMO, it would take major as in season-ending injuries to some key guys for this bet not to hit.....of course with my luck, on the first play from scrimmage in week 1 Moss and Welker will collide downfield and Brady will get sacked and all 3 will be out for the year......but short of that, can this bet realistically lose?
This is like a big favorite in boxing, but I look at this bet as losing once out of 20 times, and as such, -800 is good value....I am really considering $8000 to win $1000.....

why dont you bet a game 1100 to win 1000 on the spread or over under on a game you like? If you lose bet another 1100 to win 1000. Then If you win, bet 1200 to win 1100 and then win your 1000 dollars this way instead of laying 8 to 1? This way you wont risk 8000 at once

Mainly because I normally bet closer to 100 a game, but with futures it's one bet for the whole season.....I took about 20 MLB futures at 100 each and they are looking 14-6 right now, but that will net about 700 for the season, which doesn't seem like that much...most importantly, with my local, I don't have to put up the money, only pay if I lose.....if I go 1000 a game and lose the first 2, then a few days later I have to pay that 2000....so this is a safer way to go.....

Well, I really think you have a safe bet with the Pats in the spot of winning their division. I dont believe in locks so I can never say something cant lose, cause everything is possible. As far as the other 3 teams winning that division, I dont see it happening. Jets will try to make a run with Favre at the helm, he might even beat the Pats once this year, & the Bills havent forgotten about last years Sunday night beat down at Buffalo stadium & Miami will play them tuff in 1 game but in all reality, even if its a tight race at the end of the year, the Pats should win their division, good luck with your bet if you make it, but I doubt you will need luck winning that division with the Pats!

I am sure that NE will win their division, but consider this...
You're laying 80 times the amount you usually bet on one game. Just based on that, common sense says you shouldn't do it. You're talking about $8,000 dude. I was listening to someone on the radio today and he was saying that Brady with his lack of playing time this preseason will, without a doubt, hurt the team this year. I dont know if it will or wont, but it's something to consider. My advice is to keep your eight grand and save your 80 units to turn it into 160 units through out the course of the year.
Whatever you decide... good luck. Keep us posted on what you decide.

I would also never want that much money tied up in an over-seas account for that long, if you are going to use an online book anyway. But, that is just me.
If you can lose $8000 for a few months and not give a fuck then I would say ok, give it a shot. If you can afford to lose $8000 completely, in the case that the Pats don't win the division, and not have it affect your life financially, ok, why not? But at -800? Just seems like a waste of time to me.

I can afford the $8000 loss but i'm too damn smart to lay juice like that
did i have the pat early to win superbowl at +500 yes BUT then seson end i saw weakness of PATS D and hammered the Giants in week 13 then again super bowl s/u $2000 reverse Giants +298 UNDERS
won $5960 GIANTS WON game twice $11290
WON $2000 UNDERS twice $15290.00 WON in super bowl all beacuse of ceratin secret i leraned 6 years ago about every super bowl champion !
I was shocked to find out the s/u winner each had this statiistic in place from Packers to Jets to Dolphins Redskins Cowboys GIANTS 49ers Steelers Raiders all champions had this formula it has to do with players colleges they graduated from TWO ceratin colleges the players MUST BE strters on field one from each school !
THIS years possible super bowl champs are the
Browns ... Giants .. Cardinals-- Pats ... longshots
Cardinals--- Eagles
GUARANTEED one of those 6 teams will win the superbowl opss forgot one THE Saints i think also reall longshot
they will win DIV but if lose to BUCS either Game they are out !
REMBER upset of Rams by PATS 14 point DOG
well history has shown that any team that lost to the BUCCANEERS NEVER won a superbowl the rams were the only ones to get there all others got ousted in playoffs
including the 15-1 VIKES
so look at your teams scheduels if they play the BUCS Circle that Game if THEY lose your team will not be dancing at the bowl !

I got that line at -600 and laid 6000 to win 1000. i NORMALLY BET ABOUT 500 A GAME THOUGH. I don't have to actually tie my money up either. I have a credit line. Keep in mind that you can cut your loses with a bet like this on key games. There may be one game that if NE loses they will not win their division. bet The 1000 ML at +500 and you will get yourself out of most of it. Just a hypothetical. This is about as close to a sure thing as your going to get IMO. Sandiego -400 is pretty good too. you can bet both SD-400 and Denver +600 and then just worry about KC or Oak pulling a season out of their asses...
