#9276 Posted: 6/3/2012 10:37:33 PM Thanks Plisskin76, Yea don't listen to me when it comes to Padres. They were 3-1 day games, and I thought they had it together. Three worst teams in baseball; Padres, As, Cubs

#9277 Posted: 6/4/2012 10:10:53 AM BAY AREA BASH BROTHERS BASEBALL LEAGUE ______________________________
CHAMPIONSHIP DESTROYS GREEN SMOKERS MOVE BACK INTO 1ST PLACE!
The Championship opened up a can a whoop behind on the Green Smokers beating the 1st place team 12-1 and knocking them out of the Penthouse. OF Carlos Gonzalez led the barrage with 4 HR's, 9 RBI's and a .500 avg to lead his team back to 1st place. The Championship had been struggling but this beatdown was what they needed to get back to the Penthouse. They have roommates though Str8ballin and Always 2nd Place have joined them. ______________________________ STR8BALLIN DOWNS SLUMPING BLUE CRUSHERS 8-3!
Str8ballin defeated the Blue Crushers sending the Crushers further down in the standings. SS Hanley Ramirez belted 4 HR's, 6 RBI's with a .500. The only good news for the Crushers was Pitcher Felix Doubront winning 2 games and posting 13 K's. __________________________________________
CALIFORNIA BEARS EDGE HOMERUN KINGZ!
The California Bears are back to their winning ways posting their 2nd victory in a row over the last place Homerun Kingz. The Bears once again had great pitching with 5 pitchers posting 0.00 ERA's including 3 starters. The highlight of the week no doubt was Bears Pitcher Johan Santana pitching a no-hitter for the Bears. Even better news the Bears move up in the standings to 5th Place. ________________________________________ Always 2nd Place defeat Fireballs 8-6!
It was a see-saw battle between these 2 rivals but the Fireballs couldn't overcome the stellar pitching by Always 2nd Place. Always 2nd Place had 5 pitchers post 0.00 ERA's and Matt Cain had a 1.13 ERA. The team ERA for the week was an incredible 2.49 with 81 K's. All the Fireballs could do was look on in astonishment as they sunk closer to the cellar. ________________________________________
STANDINGS GB 1. CHAMPIONSHIP-- 2. STR8BALLIN ONUSUCKAS-- 3. ALWAYS 2ND PLACE-- 4. GREEN SMOKERS 3.5 5. CALIFORNIA BEARS 5 6. BLUE CRUSHERS 6 7. SHANKS 15.5 8. FIREBALLS 16 9. TSSAJOS 18 10. HOMERUN KINGZ 21

#9281 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:51:16 PM It's June and that must mean it's Summer everywhere except the Bay Area and the Pacific Northwest. If you have never been to SF then you have no idea what I'm talking about. We would laugh at the tourist who would come to SF in July expecting sunshine and blue skys with 80 degree weather only to be greeted with 55 degrees and a steady wind and fog. When I first moved to the Bay Area I will never forget one day when it was mid 80's in the East Bay and I went to Candlestick Park with no jacket but a long shirt. I froze my So. Cal behind off. I was new to the Bay Area and I didn't believe that fat meat was greasy. Believe me I never made that mistake again at Candlestick Park. When they opened AT&T Park they said that it wouldn't be as cold for the fans. Well they lied. AT&T isn't quite as bad but being literally built on the Bay in the China Basin when the wind is blowing it's no joke. Just take a look at the crowd the next time you watch a Giants game. It is the most beautiful Ballpark I have been to so far. I haven't been to Petco in SD yet. Safeco in Seattle is very nice and I love the train running through the outskirts of the stadium with the train signal blowing. Great atmosphere outside the stadium in Seattle and SF. |

#9282 Posted: 6/4/2012 2:58:02 PM Today it's rainy in SF just like here in Portland. There will be a moderate wind blowing at AT&T Park. Take the Over in the Chi-SF game. With the conditions being the way they are I am expecting the Cubs pitchers to get rattled and it should be an easy Over 6.5 in this game.
I'm taking the D-Backs tonight against Colorado. AZ has defeated Colorado 5 times in a row at home and should win this game despite the fact that Colorado is playing better. It's time for another long streak! |

#9284 Posted: 6/4/2012 3:58:51 PM Another thing about the Bay Area. There is a 50 degree temperature swing in the Summer. You could be in Concord or Walnut Creek which is about 15 miles North of Oakland in the East Bay and it could be 101 degrees. Oakland would be 68, go across the Bridge to SF and it would be about 63 degrees and go south to Pacifica on the Peninsula and it would be around 50-52 degrees. So many micro climates it's amazing. But it's a great place to live just too damn expensive. |

#9285 Posted: 6/4/2012 6:56:04 PM Well the Giants did win the game but they number didn't go over thanks to the Giants leaving 11 men on base and going 1-14 with RISP. That's pathetic!!! That's a .071 batting Avg. Even with a pathetic 3-14 they would have gone over the number. But at least I got the win on SFTC. |

#9289 Posted: 6/4/2012 11:06:59 PM This really blows. Oakland couldn't score a run yesterday off their ex-teammate. Today I take Texas on SFTC and those fools go off for 8 runs in the 2nd inning! Could this be the 2nd beatdown Texas will take in a week. Thats 3 8 run innings in less than a week for that pitching staff. Amazing. |

going for the my 9th streak win... I selected the Rangers... was off the board but came back on and I jumped on it... and look what happens. A's 8 - 0 over the Rangers in 2 innings!!!
my reasoning.... games 1 Rangers 12 - 5 A's 6-13 Rangers hitting over .300+ against R in the last 10 games while A's are only hitting .200 against righties... it has LOCK written all over it.
there goes my hat and more streak glory. reminds me of my 19th pick when it wasn't even close. maybe the Rangers might pull it of like the Reds did for you a couple of days ago.
add the A's and Dodgers on my crap list.

Whats up smooth, I went to school up in Chico, and your dead on about SF and it's temperature changes. As far as Petco goes, If you sit along the first base line at Petco, you'll have a wind/ chill factor. Anywhere else and its nice. The ocean is behind home plate, but the wind bounces off the buildings and comes in towards 1st baseline/Padre dug out.. Petco is so nice, it is retarded.compared to the payroll they put out.
