What is even the reason for trying to figure out whether it is smart to by a Lin card for $20K.  For people who would buy that, it's like going to the store and grabbing a candy bar.

Allen Iverson blew a $150M plus (by doing such idiotic things as bringing a hair stylist along with him on trips as part of his entourage) and has an $800K plus jewelry bill still outstanding.  That is 100 times more stupid than some some rich prick buying a playing card for $20K.

hutch with the bidding system ebay has this started at 1buck and made it to 21k, this was not 1 moron but many. I would like to think that for me to blow 20k on cards i would have a little knowlege about the hobby, but every year people blow 20+k on 1/1-1/5 no.1 picks.... J.Russle cards have gone for more.... Andrew Luck will have an auto card worth 500 with black ink but have one with green ink and it will go for 20k in 2012 and then be worth 3k one day if he makes the hall, while the ones with black ink would be worth 1000-1200 by then.

allen iverson get new clothes and left them every place he went, lol-wwwoooowwww street smarts

Well looky here!

Looks like one already sold for $21,580.

The craziest guy in the whole scenario may be the seller. He paid $1,000 for it after TWO GAMES .

Craziest or smartest? I probably would have paid $500 and turned around and done the same thing, hoping the "Linsanity" took off and I could make a quick buck the following week. Might have dreamed of $1500.....but 20k would have never entered my mind, let alone to have a reserve set above 20k....Call him crazy, but if J Lin had beat the Heat that card goes for 30k.....

Its gonna suck if the reserve isnt met and he tries to resell it and cant get close to 20k.....

I wouldn't do it no matter how much money I had...

For some people this is like you or me buying a coffee...keep that in mind.

And there ya have it!

That bidder can keep his lousy $21,500 and the seller can keep his treasured Lin card because the reserve was not met.

What idiots...on both ends of the attempted sale...

Reserve not met? ... that's poor..

Yeah anyone spending this kinda cash on a lin rookie likely fell behind backwards into a bunch of money and it won't last long..
