I envy you oakland a's fans.  The oakland athletics are one of the more under rated teams that any real sports fan will ever come across with no bias.  Credit is due when it is and the oakland a's franchise deserve just that.  You might know me as a guy who calls bullshit way too often but i gotta tell you that this fuckin' oakland a's team is the real deal unlike other teams with big names with a high payroll who try to buy a championship.

Do fans outside of the A's even know who bret anderson and dallas braden are?  Well in case you don't, these guy are a definite 1-2 punch on any pitching staff yet the a's have been able to overcome these major injuries, let alone brandon mccarthy's injuries.  The a's really get the garbage done right like no other team can.  Billy beane and the a's organization are obvious geniuses!  darn the dodgers and angels!  I only wished that i was a kid who was born and raised into a low key organization like the a's, not the overpaid, fair weather team bullshit that i've been used to!

The oakland athletics spent 1 day all season long in first place, just one fuckin' day!  and what day was that!  Today was the only day the a's spent in first place fool!  They won the division by sweeping the texas rangers on the last day of the regular season!  Give the oakland a's their fuckin' due and bow the darn down mutha guy!  i am not even an oakland a's fan either!  Sure the a's might not even win whomever they face in the first round of the baseball playoffs!  They might not even get to the ALCS let alone to the world series!  it doesn't fuckin' matter!  Tip your caps off to them!

Blame east coast bias. Same thing when everyone dissed the 2010 giants.

Go A's ! Go SF Giants !

it's called sarcasm, now if michigan wants to make a separate thread that is more tame before the baseball post-season starts, be my guess but no oakland a's fans shouldn't be allowed in it because i've left out so many other reasons why they deserve credit this year.  I don't even expect any mariners, rangers, or angels fan to say anything.  You might also say that i am a very jealous of what the oakland a's were able to do this year.

Riceboi - I like what the A's have done but couldn't agree more. That place hardly ever sells out.

You can't blame the fan base for that. The stadium is no where near par to most parks in the majors. Have you even been to the coliseum?

The A's have one of the most loyal fans but they're all in the nicer parts of the bay area. Put a park in the south bay and watch it all out just like the giants across the bay

I drive 2.5 hours one way to watch my Tigers play...and go to 6-7 games a year. If people are really fans regardless of where the stadium is located or cared about their team they would show up.

You have a good point! I am an Angel fan and their management stinks! They have an owner that spent 250 million on another 1st baseman. Now they have THREE 1ST BASEMAN AND ANY WOULD START ON ANY TEAM!!! They can't figure out how they won the WS in 2002! They got rid of the players AND coaches who got them a WS ring. Now, they throw $$$$$$$$ at problems without thinking. They reject Billy Ball and they are paying the price. BIG TIME!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck OAK! Even though you are my enemies I have to respect your solid play and comeback wins. Hope you win it all!

This A's team is a dream team not only for fans, but gamblers. How many times did you get Oakland at + money this year? Pretty sure it was something like 75%. Been folowing oakland since last year when Melvin became manager in the second half, saw a bit of a spark there but had no idea they would accomplish this! I thought losing Gio and Willingham would really hurt them, and the pitcher injuries would slow them down. I am just hoping that either Oakland or Baltimore will win it all!.

Good for the A's, but I bet the vast majority of their fans celebrating yesterday gave up on the team a long time ago.

Kind of like Homer Simpson with Springfield’s minor league team. He trashes them all season and then when he finds out they are in the championship he immediately goes out and buys a bunch of team gear and starts acting like he’s been a diehard fan all season.

Angels

Dodgers

Oakland

And I am an Angel Fan. Oakland took it to the AL West and came out on top with minimal payroll. Good for them .

and don't fuckin' bring up the fact that i might be jixing the A's oakland fans, i already stated well ahead of time whether they can't get past the first round or not, they deserve their due!  fuckin' 59.5 million dollar payroll lowest in major league baseball!  Now a come back 9th inning win with their fools on the line?  Chance to beat verlander in the deciding game at home do or die?  I am really jealous!  On top of the giants being able to tie the series up after losing the first 2 games at home vs reds?  what is right about the bay area people!  obviously not the housing costs but got damn fuckin' congratufuckinlations!
