in Utah on Thurs night does look like one where USC gets picked off over the years....UW won't win in Baton Rouge or Eugene (thanks nostra..captain obvious)....could knock off USC at home I guess, maybe around +14 in that one...although with that defense they may need 50 to outscore them, one more week to some large money on week 1 buddy

boom-
love the intro write up to your pac12 forecast. looking forward to your team by team breakdowns, but i'm sensing we are on the same page about a lot.usc will cost themselves a few wins, high on utah, and oregon, good ATS teams could also be the washingtons, the oregons and utah, maybe even UCLA?. i think there is good money to be made in the pac12 this year because public perception is way off in this conference

There is no way I can ever disrespect someone who puts thi smuch work and obvisouly loves the game. And fo rme to say USC will beat UTAH well they are suppose to. The ONLY weakness USC may have is depth from the lack of scholarships the last few years. But they have the best 11 on both sides of the ball. If they get Silas Redd and sure up their running game they will not loose a game. Marquise Lee is a #1 receiver on 99% of the Div 1 teams. There 3-4-5 receivers although nobody has heard of are all 4/5 star recruits. USC runs the table. Bailey,Pullard, Dawson are insane sideline to sideline and they have at least 2 legit all americans in the secondary in Macdonald and Robey   LOVE this team BOOM

I think there are only 6 teams that have a legitimate chance to win the BCS Championship. That doesnt mean there are only 6 elite teams. In fact I think one of the teams playing would be a underdog against 7 teams it would be ahead of. It's a mix of scheduling and luck for sure. If I put Oregon in the ACC, Big East or Big ten thye may run the table and get there. But having to potentially beat USC twice on the road alot to ask. I hate the fact that Oregon still hasnt decided on a #1 quarterback. I cannot put them in the top three teams because of it. I cant justify that without knowing if its Bennett or Mariota behind center that they can beat Barkley. So there is a huge difference in my top 5 rankings where I think it will end up and the 5 best teams.

TOP 6 Teams

1) USC -- only weakness is depth due to scholarships being limited but they will run the table

2) LSU-- Can Mettenberger stretch the field enough so defenses have to play them honest ? they have a half dozen backs that coul dstart anywhere. The only think  Iwill watch closely on D is how do the tw onew linebackers do after Baker and Francois left .. Tough end of the year schedule after an easy non conference start against Idaho, Townson, Washington

3) Oregon.. A year away... AlL American canadiates al over the field and a who's who on the watch list for every award Carson York-Outland John Boyett and Dion Jordan-Nagurski, De'Anthony Thomas ( Walter Camp ) Kenjon Barner- Doak Walker SO talented everywhere I just can trust tthe Qb

4) Alabama--- 7 offensive starters returning with AJ who is completely underrated. Lacy is no Mark Ingram or Trent Richardson and they are thin at receiver.. Defense returns 4 starters but Saban's defense is so complex it confuses most.. They visit Arkansas and LSU tough schedule

5) Florida State --- Defense is sick. Manue will have a solid year but not a Heisman year like some think. Schedule goes big time in their favor. Home against Clemson and Florida  have a chance to run th etable. But their weakness is on the O line and that could hurt protecting th elead or needing that yard when it counts

6) Oaklahoma-- Heisman Canadiate at QB Reynolds and Kenny Stills wr.. Texas at home.. Tough games at end of th eyear at TCU and WVU but they could run the Table

Where I think it ends

1) USC

2) Oaklahoma

3) LSU

4) Alabama

5) Oregon

6) Florida State

good luck this year Boom!

Couldn't agree with you more about Leach and Wazzu.  Pullman reminds me so much of Lubbock it's scary!  He'll have them turned around immediately.

The thing I like about SC against Utah is they have a bye week leading up to it.  It's the next game against Washington that is completely losable

Washington - This team will be boom or bust IMO this season. The Schedule? Brutal! I like Steve Sarkisian and think the guy is slowly but surely turning this program around. Keith Price is a talented guy who runs this offense better then Jake did. The OL will be as good or better then Ive seen them be in many years. Question is can they replace Polk and the two receivers Kearse and Aguilar? Only time will tell but I do like some of the new pieces on offense and think they can be as good or better then last season. Defensively this group was awful last year. I do think they will be better just because statically they bring back more experience, but that doesn't always translate into better success. Home against San Diego isn't a cupcake game. Then the beatdown in Baton rouge wont help things. Here is the tough part, Stanford @ Oregon and USC all in consecutive weeks. Goof thing is they get two of those at home. IMO if they go 1-2 in that stretch its a win. As much as I talk about how difficult the schedule is, the replacement of skill players and defensively they need to get better, I think they have a shot to be good. I like this team and believe they ceiling is high. Don't be surprised if this team finishes as high as 2nd in this division. Washington is one of my teams to watch.

Boom.............that's a pretty fair assessment of the Huskies..........replacing Polk is tough but mostly because of his effectiveness catching the ball out of the backfield. Callier & Sankey are both very capable backs, & watch for a kid named Deontae Cooper. He's been hurt 2 years running & hasn't seen the field, but he was a stud coming out of HS & I've heard he's looking good.
Losing Kearse & Aguilar isn't that tough because if you look down the chart you can see that they spread the ball around. They have one of the best TE duo's in cfb (they don't show up in PS's charts because they're both true soph's), & Williams, Johnson, & Bruns are all excellent wr's. With Price now healthy (won't be wearing braces on his knees) the offense isn't likely to fall off at all.

The D will be the ?. They can't help but being better than LY but the question will be how much better? New coaches, new scheme (moving to 3-4)................if they can just turn into an avg D they could win 8-9 games. But, as you mentioned, the schedule is tough. Any slips & they could end up 6-6.

Usc defense is a huge weakness on that team, they were terrible last year and didn't improve in the off-season, I don't think they can hold down the ducks twice

In all fairness, Booms nuts are large, but not gigantic.

I wasnt defending Boom, he needs no help. I was commenting on the fact you know zero about college football and are indeed a sack of monkey garbage.

End of story. Game over. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dsx2vdn7gpY

Stanford - Who doesn't like this throw back style football Stanford has been playing? I love it. Line up, get physical and go play. Last year I was a little worried about Shaw taking over the team once Harbaugh left, but he IMO done a terrific job of keeping what looks like a program on the rise. Biggest question or one of the biggest questions in college football this season is will Stanford be successful without Andrew Luck? I think so. This isn't Baylor, and no offense to Baylor. But this team is built more on power, defense and execution. Really nobody knows alot about this kid Nottingham. I know this, he is a legit 6'4 and close to 220lbs. The guy is your prototypical Stanford QB. A big physical guy to run this power pro style offense. But the guy you need to focus on is Stephen Taylor. He is a beast. Teams will have a hard time with this guy. One of the biggest loses IMO was losing Decastro off the OL. Actually this OL isn't the same as far as depth goes IMO. I think they will be good and better then most OL's, but overall a step back IMO. Defensively last season they were pretty good. Alot of people think they were great, not me. This offense protects this defense alot of the times with long time consuming drives. They do have a good core of guys on all levels of the defense which should really help this team. Overall I do think this is a 9 win team, no more then 10 but no less then 8. This is a solid football "program" that has really taken it to the next level. Games to watch out for. @ Washington USC,@N.D and @ Oregon. I think they go 2-2 in that stretch at best and that's why I say 9 to 10 wins.

up next..............Oregon S.T

soon boomer you are a disturbed dude. where did you see anthing negative in what I said ? I was expressing my opinion something you should try having instead of following like a physco. Boom is great and extremely intelligent but I also played the game and I am sure Boom would feel its ok if someone else had an intelligent opinion once in a while. Or do you need to ask him if its ok to breathe ?

Oregon S.T - This is a team who I think may surprise a little. I know most of you guys dont think much of Mike Riley, but the West Coast guys will tell you he's a solid guy. He is too. I think coach Riley is very underrated. He has had some problems the last few seasons, but I think it has to do with a combination of things, talent and injures. What has been the problem with this group? Well, they cant run the ball consistently enough. I do think it will be better this year but its hard to tell when the previous OL was as bad as they were. Again, you have yo understand they play in the PAC 12 North, it's a very solid division. Defensively they have been poor as well, will that get better this year? I think so. More experience and little better depth has to increase your numbers some. But then again, understand that they are playing some pretty good offenses out in the PAC 12. Basically I think we shouldn't sleep on this team. I believe they will pull a upset. No, not Wisconsin. Stanford? Outside chance of Oregon? No im not calling for the upset vs Oregon, it is a rivalry game tho. You never know. Overall, I think this team goes bowling. Why? The schedule. They get a easy slate of teams from the other side in ASU and Arizona. Utah will be tough, but overall, not bad. I'm telling you right now. Don't sleep on this team.

up next.......................... Cal

Though they've been down, Riley does more with less talent than any coach in the Pac 12.  Should be mentioned that the Beavers are a notoriously slow starting team.

Boom - I follow UW and WSU pretty closely living in Seattle and UW's Oline is probably the biggest question mark of any position on team. They've had a lot of injuries to Oline and barely have enough bodies to practice. They also lost some good skill position guys to graduation which you mentioned. I think defense will be improved with the new coaches but d is still a question mark. I'm a little bias since I hate UW but with their tough schedule I think the Huskies finish 6-6. If everything goes really well I would say 7-5 but I would definitely bet the under 7.5 total wins line. Looking forward to Coug write up.
