I have a ticket that pays $7500 if Nashville wins the Cup. Should I...

1. Put $500 on Detroit to win the Cup @ +1300.

2. Put $500 on Detroit to win the series.

3. darn it, Nashville will win.

Only cost me a few bucks because it was a parlay with some crazy prop I hit.

Nashville with home ice seems like a big advantage against a VERY average Detroit road team.

It still matters when trying to figure out what to hedge. What was the price within the parlay?

As a WINGS fan you can never count out the WINGS. A lot more experience then the Preds in the playoffs.

Yes they suck on the road this season BUT the playoffs are a different beast. Howard is coming into his own as a starter.
The only way Wings win this series is two things. Score on the f in Power Play a lot and they have to WIN 2 games in Nashville.

If you are that confident on the WINGS losing DON'T HEDGE.  If anything bet a small amount on the WINGS to win the series if you are that worried but I won't    Good Luck

you would be unprofitable hedging so early, you need them to get to the WCF before you can hedge.

It only cost me $5!!!!

50.00 prop I hit

30.00 Nashville to win the Cup

1500 x 5 = $7500

I love Nashville. The experience and makeup of this team has them primed for a long playoff run.  I like them to come out of the West.

I completely agree.  Good things don't happen when a team that hasn't had a whole lot of success in the past is expected to go on a big run in any sport.  Detroit has historically been the "bigger brother" to the Preds and while Nashville might have the right group to beat this squad Detroit knows they can compete.  This is also the first time that the Preds are expected to win a series and are the clear cut favourite.  I have a feeling Detroit either takes this or pushes it to 7.

Nashville is way too inconsistent, they will bow out in round one against a Wings team that has plenty of playoff experience.

I don't think the Preds are clear cut favorites here. If there was ever a pick'em series, this is it. Going to be fun to watch.

4. 300 on Detroit to win the series and 200 on Detroit to win the Cup @ +1300.

below is a quote from an article on covers that I read a couple days ago. i think the title of the article was the "western conference cheat sheet" no idea that the wings were still really good when it came to 5 on 5 play. pretty interesting stat that favors the wings and I am a big Nashville fan. nothing would make me happier than to see the wings lose in the first round to nashville.

"best 5 on 5 teams

I don’t have anything against special teams but, as we saw late in the regular season, most referees put the whistle away in critical games. That means successful teams must have the ability to score at even strength.

No team in the league does that better than the Detroit Red Wings. The Red Wings score 1.44 more goals at even strength per game than their opponents. The only teams that are even close to Detroit in even-strength dominance are the Bruins and Blues. "
