6 and a half out last day of August

Beat the Padres on the last day of the season

Beat the Braves

Beat "the best team in the National League" Phillies

Beat a Ranger team that beat The Best Team Money Can Buy

Yeah, that sounds like a team that really sucks.........

But what most of the posters have already realized, is the only thing that sucks

Cry me a river, but build yourself a bridge and get over it!
GIANTS are the best in baseball, live with it.

The Giants were a good team!  They got hot at the end of the year, which is a very big help.  Add a couple of heavy hitters and they are easily a 100+ win team.

You got everything right except the Rangers are the best team money can buy. The Rangers' payroll is 'only' $50 million, near the bottom of MLB payrolls.  Almost all of their talent is homegrown except Cliff Lee.  If the Rangers can re-sign Cliff Lee they still won't be the best team money can buy, that honor remains with the Yankees.

The Rangers and Giants were good stories because they beat the big monied teams in the LCS to get to the WS:  the Yankees and Phillies.

ok I didnt bet the rangers or the gaints ...to tell you the truth i didnt bet any baseball playoffs this year...and i dont live in texas.....but i'll tell you this are the giants one of the best teams ever to win a world series....hell no they got lucky... but thats all it takes in sports, gambling, hell even in life.  anyone that wants to argue that go ahead...although covers is full of kids who think they know it all anyways..but really their the champs and i'm sure it will be the last one in a long time so all you people in san fran enjoy whille you can cause the niners suck donkey balls and next year you wont win cause its alot harder to win with a target on your back just look at my blackhawks this year and the white soxs in 05...its easier to sneak up on people witch is basically what the giants did.  cause i'll tell you this no one in there right mind thought they would win it let alone be there....so enjoy san fran your the best in baseball for 2010 but not all time.  and some stupid kid from california will try and fight me on this...

Did you miss the 5 games they just played?

Do they have to play them again to convince you?

They "got hot" because they brought up Posey from AAA Fresno in May, Bumgarner from AAA Fresno in June, and acquired Cody Ross in August.

That's how they "got hot" at the right time.

"The Giants will not beat Cliff Lee once"

No, they beat him twice.

The East Coast media forgot about Tim Lincecum, about Matt Cain, and they probably never saw Madison Bumgarner pitch or Buster Posey catch, hit or throw.

TX was a huge favorite in a must win game, at home, with their ace on the mound.

The Giants shut them out 2x and allowed 1 run in Game 5 and a total of 5 runs in 3 games in TX

And wait until they get another bat or two in the lineup next year...

The Rangers have beat the Giants once in the last 14 games, regular and post season combined.

How did they "get lucky"?

I guess beating the Padres, the Braves, the Phils and the Rangers was just "luck"

I guess Tim Lincecum, who is arguably the 2nd best pitcher on the staff winning back-to-back Cy Young awards was just "luck"

Calling up Posey in May and Bumgarner in June was just "luck"

Brain Wilson leading the NL in saves was just "luck"

Having the top ERA in the majors was just "luck"

Having the top Defense in the majors was just "luck"

The Giants are a cohesive group of professional athletes who love to play for one another.  I'll take a team of "average" to "above aveage" position players with great pitching over a team of superstars who are out for themselves anyday.

I went to games 1 and 2 and the croud at AT & T was electrifying.

See you at the parade tomorow!!!

Let's go Giants!!!
