1st off before anyone asks i'm from Michigan and i'm not a michigan fan. Brady Hoke said that Notre Dame is chickening out of the series with michigan. Then you have Louis Niz the DT from Notre Dame act like a clown on twitter i guess insinuating Hoke's weight. Then Notre Dame's AD made his comments today. i guess the networks have nothing else to talk about.
Brady Hoke said what he said at a booster club gathering to try to get the michigan people fired up. You go to 1,000 of these lunches have to kiss everyone's a$$ that he decided to spice it up.
When you look at Notre Dame going forward in 2014 they have to play 5 ACC teams a year. Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick said the 3 games that Notre Dame will play every year even they joined a league would be against USC,Stanford and Navy. USC and Stanford so they have 1 game a year in california. And Navy because they're rivals {also notre Dame wont say it but usually they beat Navy that's why Navy stays on the schedule} Though Navy since 07 has given ND fits
In 2014 they have a game vs Rice and 2015 vs Umass. Most say why won't they cancel UMASS and play michigan in 2015? Because Notre Dame needs wins on the schedule. Notre Dame is no different than any other school trying to book some wins.
Also they have future games with BYU that will have to be played. My point is Notre Dame doesn't need Michigan and Michigan doesn't need Notre Dame. Guess what guys No matter who Notre Dame plays they'll draw the same 80,000 fans at home and Michigan will draw the same 105,000. College football will be fine and so will Michigan and ND

Pack, It doesn't make any difference as all teams will be evaluated by their strength of schedule. This is why I believe that Big 10 teams will suffer in the rankings, and may not be playoff worthy.
Helping Kama'aina to beat their " Local " since 1994.

An undefeated or 1 loss Big Ten team will almost assuredly qualify for the playoff. To think otherwise is laughable.

what say you?
It's a great rivalry, but like you said, neither team needs the other. Notre Dame wants to play the weaker Big10 teams. The way it went down was pretty sketchy, handing over the paperwork prior to kickoff to cancel the series.

You are correct that neither team needs each other. However, although I do not give a damn about either team i am a college football fan . As a college football fan, i enjoyed the rivalry and will miss it.
It is yet another huge football rivalry to fall by the wayside because of conference realignments and is disappointing. JMHO

Packers,it seems like NotreDame-Michigan have taken years off before. Its one of my favorite early season rivalries that I try not to miss and has been real profitable to me.Both teams and fans love the series..I just cant grasp the fact that Irish would rather keep Stanford and cut Michigan

Grew up watching (and rooting) for UM, but not really a fan. I actually went there for 2 years.
Hoke's not a bad guy but he needs to grow up. So does the ND AD. Dumb-a$$ kids.
F'n twitter? Really? That stuff is so lame.
Anyway, the match-up is kind of dated. ND has not fared well - just a fluke last year. And Michigan has not done much in the last decade. Time to take a break and explore other venues. Can always get a single game a few years down the road, but I think they want a 4-5 year series.
