I posted this in NFL, but thought it might be more appropriate here as it only pertains to Vegas.

I went into the "Las Vegas Hotel (I still call it the Hilton) to bet a couple games and some parlay cards in the first week of CFB.  I filled them out and bet without looking at the back for the payouts and realized after the fact that I had been screwed.  They have cut their payout for everything but the real long shots.  5-team to 8-team payouts were cut by 12-22%.  Seriously?  I have been betting these for years and they loved my action as a loser.

I went back to ask what was going on and the ticket writer said every book in Vegas was cutting their payouts because every book lost money for the year because of a couple of professionals.  What a load of crap.  I went to a William Hill book and their payouts were the same as Hilton had before.  I also went to Harrah's and their payouts didn't change either (though they payed less than Hilton previously).

I read an article that says sport book won something like 25% on the total parlay card action for the year in 2011.  Yeah.  So the writer lied on both accounts.

I am done with this book.  They have seen my last betting dollar on any type of bet, even the ponies!

I will be there next weekend and was considering entering the Superconstest for the season @ $1,500

It had it's largest payday ever last year

Next Saturday @ 11:00 AM is the cutoff to enter

You pick 5 games every Saturday and try to win $

The M is great for parlays

I just saw this post from jjgold, the founder of SBR:

"Nevada Casinos won $44.2 million (3.3% hold) in the football category, which includes both college and pro, according to Nevada Gaming Control Board statewide numbers released last week. Meanwhile, pro and college basketball brought in $48.8 million (6.6%) combined to the bottom line showing just how important these next two months are to the sports books.
Granted, parlay cards generated $17.6 million in win for a whopping 28% hold -- the majority of play of which comes during football season, and football also wrote more action on the year."

28%!!! and they want more?  In other words, there was $1.34 billion bet on football.  Only $62.9 million of it was bet on parlay cards.  So parlay cards are 4.7% of their total football action but 40% of their total profit.  And they are still lowering their payouts.  What a bunch of scumbags.

Hilton sports book sucks.  But I am in supercontest.  Number 506 and that was as of saturday.  Should be the biggest year yet.

MOKEST03 is my team name.

Hilton does suck, they advertise as being the biggest and best book in Vegas.  But they will be one of the next casinos to close down.  They struggle mightly in patron traffic.  I guess I can see why from OP that they are trying to clamp down on parlay cards too.  Sign of the times for a casino on its last few breaths.  You would think they would stand by what they always tried to represent as the superbook but we can see they are all but that.  Superbooks only exist online, Las vegas books are nothing but penny pinching books, trying to rape the general public.  Will they change? I highly doubt it, if people continue to give them action on reduced payouts.  Did people stop playing blackjack when the casinos started paying 6/5 on blackjacks?  Maybe some but probably not.  My suggestion boycott the books and only give action to those not trying to cut corners.  William Hill seems to be only book reaching out to the general public, probably some to do with being new in the USA and trying to build relationships.  But they do have quite the deep pockets.  And I can only see them as the most fit for those who want to get the most bang for their buck.

i am in vegas but not been to william hill because was not sure where they were. but they in all the PT pubs, and also the old leroys? so Ellis Island is a william hill book now?

my question is anyone ehre in las vegas been to one of the william hill books in town at pt pub or ellis island. Do they have halftime moneylines on college football games? sometimes i like betting halftimesb ut only moneylines, and hilton is the only one in town that has that. even cantor gaming i went to venetian one day thinking they have it now and they dont

but william hill is big in the uk, are they putting moneylines up on all college football and nfl halftimes here in las vegas???? please someone here who know post and let me know, i not had a chance to get to a william hill, but if they have halftime mls id rather go to ellis island or a pt pub than hilton, but if there is no halftime mls then they just as stupdia s the other books because hilton is the only one that does that, unless william hill is now?

also i notice coast casinos raised their 2tm nfl juice on 7pts from -140 to -150 starting this year which is lame, so any action i gave them instead of hilton is gone now

please someone post if they know if william hill has college and nfl football halftime moneylines?????

cantor gaming for advertising so much they are good they suck. pinnaclesports or 5dimes is way better than any of these idiots, except taking money out is easier in vegas you just collect at the ticket window
