#1 Posted: 3/16/2012 1:35:34 PM SOUTH FLORIDA HAS HAD A GREAT YEAR OVERACHIEVING BEHIND PLAYING AMAZING DEFENSE AND HITTING CLUTCH SHOTS. LAST GAME THEY DESTROYED CAL IN THE PLAY IN GAME. HOLDING CAL TO ABOUT 30% SHOOTING. TODAY THEY FACE A REALLY GOOD VETERAN TEMPLE TEAM. WHO IS VERY EFFICIENT OFFENSIVELY RANKING 20TH IN THE NATION. TEMPLE ALSO DOES A GREAT JOB OF NOT TURNING OVER THE ROCK IN COMPARISON TO USF WHO IS HORRIBLE AT GIVING AWAY TURNOVERS.
QUITE SIMPLY USF WILL NOT BE ABLE TO KEEP UP WITH TEMPLE WHO HAS ONLY NOT HIT 70 PTS ONLY 5 TIMES THIS YEAR. AND THE ATLANTIC 10 IS NO SLOUCH IN DEFENSE FOLKS. TEMPLE IS A VETERAN TEAM THAT HAS BEEN HERE BEFORE AND SOUTH FLORIDA IS WAY IN OVER THEIR HEAD IN THIS ONE. THEY WONT BE ABLE TO KEEP UP AND I ALSO HAVE A SNEAKY SUSPICION THEY WONT BE TAKING TEMPLE TOO SERIOUSLY BECAUSE OF THE NAME. WITH ALL THIS IN MIND I WILL BE ON TEMPLE LARGE TONIGHT LAYING THE POINTS.
TEMPLE -2.5 LARGE |

#9 Posted: 3/16/2012 1:55:12 PM I'm a big fan of this Temple group. They quietly put together a 24-7 season without Michael Eric for a good part of it --- a BIG TIME rebounder and shot blocker and scorer. Eric missed 12 games, and 4 of their losses came during his absence. He's averaged a double-double since he's returned.
They play really gritty defense. Shoot the 3 ball really well. Very experienced, cohesive bunch; most have been playing together 2-3 years. Very good defensive coach in Fran Dunphrey. Shortest player is 6'4". I can't think of many teams with more intelligent players who are clutch in close game situations.
Temple is likely going to become my largest wager of the month. I've been garbage lately, but I'm really fond of this team. |

#15 Posted: 3/17/2012 12:13:22 AM When I read this , I knew you weren't going to change my pick on South Florida. They have the best D in this tourney and they will win their next game as well. Temple blows and your write up proves that you were way out in space. |
