  I know tipping is a common practice to get what you want in Vegas, but is this "$20 trick" a practice hotel managers would approve of? When you take into consideration the rule-by-fear way many companies are run these days, I think a clerk might be putting his or her job at risk when taking it upon themselves to pass out an upgrade for what amounts to accepting a $20 bribe.
