I'd argue the move with Favre worked.  Yeah it was for marketing, but nobody cared about the Jets back then.  No national tv games.

Now, everybody's talking about the Jets.  Hell we got a thread here on the Jets

When did it work with Farve.  The only above average season he had his last 5 years was with the Vikings and any good QB would have done as good or better with that offensive line, receiving corp and running back.  And probably would not have lost them the playoff game which he single handedly lost.  The other 4 years he was a below avg qb.

Let's say the Jets go 8-8. Does anyone see Buffalo going 10-6 like DU4L does?

It definitely worked with Favre with the Jets IMO.  He put the team on the map.  They were on a great start until Favre got injured, torn bicep or something like that.  Jets have never looked back.

Vikings brought Favre in and he was a scramble from getting in field goal position to go to the Super Bowl.  New Orleans took a not infamous bounty on him and it worked, as he was limping around.  If he's not limping I think they go to the Super Bowl.

It didnt work with the Jets.  They did not make the playoffs with him and would not have made it without him.  Injuries happen. Had he not played and healed for a couple weeks he might have been healthy toward the end and maybe won a couple games...big if.  his fault for not sitting down.

Farve commited 4 turnovers, played horrific and any good qb would have either just sat down, or thrown the ball away but Farve threw it to the other team.

I loved Farve when he was in his prime but he got old FAST!  Yes he won the most games from behind and has the most touchdowns, but he also lost the most games in the 4th quarter and threw the most interceptions.  If you use the current QB quotant that is out there.  Over his last 5 seasons his ranking is 37.7, 50 is average (that is posted on NFL.com or somewhere).

When GB traded Favre away, they made sure that he doesn't come back to haunt them, so they got him out of the NFC to play in the AFC.  But Favre made sure that he would play against GB, win it, and to become the 1st QB to ever beat all 32 teams.  That was why he ended up in the Vikings:  To play 2 games against GB and made sure he wins one of them.

40 year old QBs?  Not a lot.  Was Kurt Warner in his 40s?  Vinny TesticleVerde?  Jeff Hosteller?  Favre was still a beast when he hit the 40th mark.  I gotta give him that but boy he doesn't work well with retirement..........  I'm surprised teams didn't look for Favre last season when QBs started dropping like flies.

Maybe if the Jets have problems with the 2 QBs, they might ring up Favre?  Or even VinnyT!!!

Anyone can play when they are 40.  They are just not good.  He was not a good quarterback for the last 5 years of his career.  He was a marketing ploy.

They really had no faith in the kid, which arguably so they the choice to do that, but one may think to themselves, "why doesn't the broncos keep tebow around to learn from manning..." It would keep tebow fans happy, the locals happy, and it would hype him up a lot more after the manning era is over and he has a shot at playing again. Oh, it would also potentially benefit him as well.

Not sure if manning asked him to be shipped out, or what the deal was, but regardless he sure took a step backwards (if that's possible) by going to NY, even if it was his choce/was not his choice.

Because Elway knows that would have been a disaster.  Just watching his body language last year you could tell he wanted NOTHING to do with Tebow long term.  It's just a distraction and he knows you can't win consistently or long term with him.  You really think Manning would have gone there if Tebow had remained on the roster?  Not a chance.  He wouldn't want to be part of that circus. That's why Tebow fits in perfectly with the Jets. They are already a circus.

Yeah I think Manning goes there if Tebow is on the team.  Call me dumb.

it's gotta be an Elway and/or John Fox thing.

It was Elway rumor was tebow was getting traded this year last

year Elway doesn't want a running qb he wants a pocket passer like

himself and yes bringing in manning was the best way to keep the

fans from raising a stink. and no we have not seen the last of tebow

time mark sanchez is too inconsistent when the jets made the

playoffs it was because of their defense and the run game sanchez

was just a game manager in those playoff games wait till he plays a

few stinkers again and tebow will get another start i say by week 8

or 9 and the jets miss the playoffs again this year.

As a life long Jets fan, this year's Jet's team is a vastly improved team from last year's.Strong first three picks in draft,i love Stephen Hill the WR and Coples turn out stong.Replacing Shotty last year's OC and adding more team speed and depth will improve there play this year.Last year's offseason was a disaster losing Brad Smith and not adding any depth and Plax was a non-factor especially between the 20's.

Tim Tebow for a 4th round pick-WHY THE HECK NOT,he's got some league experience and the kid is a WINNER.The Jets will run the Wildcat this year and who better than Tim Tebow,he can also throw out of those formations and rollouts so defenses have to respect that.
