Captain Joined: Sep 2007 Posts: 6636 Location: Texas	#1 Posted: 4/14/2012 5:57:08 PM Hey fellas I am sure most of you have seen my other thread...AKA "Cheapest Days to Visit Vegas?" Well it turns out I am not staying at Bill's Gamblin' Hall anymore...based on numerous points that I will be using to cash in the hotel, the best 3 seem to be Harrahs, New York New York and Golden Nugget...I have always heard for your 1st trip you should always stay on the Strip. So I am thinking more Harrahs or NYNY, but I have read great things about Golden Nugget on this forum...so what do you guys think? Seems like Harrahs has a better location and no resort fee where as NYNY isn't in as a favorable spot and has an $18 a night resort fee...any feedback is really appreciated

Caesars forum shops right across the street. Cheap food court/mcdonalds/ casino royale right next door.Walking distance to a lot of the fun casino's.

I was going to stay at Bills but actually read some HORRIBLE reviews...although, I still wasn't afraid to stay there haha...but if I can stay at a better place for free, why not?

NY/NY is perfect.......across Tropicana Ave is The Excalibur which connects by free tram to The Luxor and to Mandalay Bay.... Next door to NY/NY is Monte Carlo which connects by free tram to Aria and Bellagio Across the strip from NY/NY is the MGM Grand and The Tropicana... Next door to Bellagio is Caesars and across the street from the Bellagio is Ballys and The Paris... You don't need a taxi or bus and are barely walking...using the walkways and trams..... NY/NY has the BEST food court on the Strip....Mexican, Deli, Fish and Chips, Burgers....the Irish Pub is excellent..... ...and the female age group tends to be under 30.....

The food court is great, Carnival Court is a fun place to grab a drink, fairly centrally located for your walking around and touring. Also has a stop on the Monorail which is great for heading to the LVH or down the strip the other way. Rooms aren't spectacular by any means, but its a comfy enough bed with a great location. You can't really go wrong with either NYNY or Harrahs if you ask me, although I'm sure NYNY is a little nicer

Across the strip from NY/NY is the MGM Grand and The Tropicana... Next door to Bellagio is Caesars and across the street from the Bellagio is Ballys and The Paris... Harrahs in my opinion offers a better location on the strip. NYNY is much nicer though, they just did a major remodeling two years ago so the casino is much nicer and hipper. Better crowd as well for a 24 year old. Pool is not great by Vegas standards but ten times nicer than Harrahs.
