Gosh - I feel like I just farted in the elevator.  I am NOT taking BYU,  I am just pointing out that there is some things to consider about taking BYU.

Sorry about Texas leading NMSU by 7 at halftime and getting the wrong score.

That makes me feel a lot better about taking Texas now.

mins left in the first half).  now, if texas had come out in the first half with guns a blazzing and then had been shut out in the second half, that might be cause for some concern.  ill be shocked if texas doesn't cover by at least a touchdown.

I suggest you put all of your plays in the Covers Contest.  We will see at the end of the year.  Talk is cheap.

Put 'em up in the Contest  and let the world see your picks over a season, not 1 game or 1 week.

My verified record this year is  7 -3.  I prefer results to talk.

Show me the Car Fax.

This has nothing to do with week 1 performances. If this was the first game of the year for either team I would feel the same way. If u werent aware some teams get better and some teams get worse from year to year. The betting public has a hard time realizing this.

I really dont think betting college football is for you. U might want to get a new hobbby. Maybe just do fantasy football. Or collect stamps.

Taysom Hill BYUs QB hasnt proven that he can move an offense. Thats what Im betting against. Im also betting againt this NEW BYU defense. No where close to last years defense. The defense bailed the horrible offense out last year. Not this year.

The Longhorn offense took sometime to get going, but when they did New Mexico State couldn't keep up.  BYU brings back a unit that was top 5 in total defense, yes they lost a lot of players due to being too old or having too many children J/K.  I expect the BYU defense to play hard.  Its a home game and Texas is favored by 7-8 points.  There are a lot of mature (age) men on the byu team and I believe their going to use that as motivation.  Defensively Texas can shut down the running game of BYU and force the unstable BYU QB into costly turnovers.  Texans cover with a late score.

1) NMSU is not the worst team in cfball

2) had BYU won last week the spread would still be between 4-7 pts. So I don't know where the classic overreaction comments are coming from.

I do agree with the comments about altitude though. That can screw with anyone who isn't accustomed to it.

Why do certain people come on here, give their opinions on a game, the continue to argue with people who don't agree? Annoying when you want to see what others think and you have to read 50 posts of BS by the same person. The same guy who calls multiple games in one day the play of the day.

to me texas is the most underrated team in the nation right now, byu has a very good D but their offence is below average and although this one may be close for a while, I see texas doing enough in each quarter to slowly creep away from the cougars by 21+, LONGHORNS-7

To Hey Mr Stasche  - From Combato

I don't think I will take your advice and give up betting on football now.

Your big talk about Texas vs  BYU turned out to be nothing but rookie gas and worthy of a rank amateur.  You are clearly a poser and now it has been exposed for all to see.

I suggest you go away for a few seasons and learn your capping craft a bit better.  Try to focus on what is important.  My fees for teaching are reasonable and would be glad to be of help

And all you other posters here, remember this game and think about it the next time you see a team that “can’t lose”.

That will just about do it…  Texas leaned what Florida State learned a couple of seasons back… don’t fxck around in Provo, Utah period...  It just "ain't" worth it!  If you want to play BYU, meet them at a neutral field somewhere in the middle.

With that said, cash your tickets at the windows Ladies and Gentlemen because this puppy is a wrap.  Nice piece of work Brigham Young and Over backers!

All the long winded nonsense about matchups, and stats.  As if anyone who posts on Covers has access to such information.  Idiots believe what they read, and then try to build analysis from this drivel.

But it is not real.  Unless you are with the team itself, you are fooling yourself.  No one can understand what is going on inside the locker room unless you are there or know some on who is.  And the sharp money knows this and you and I do not.

And this is one of many reasons I bet with sharp money and bet against dumb/square money.   And it is the reason I love to read dumbshit comments on Covers because you guys are money in the bank to me
