Oh, please stop. In college hoops Butler did not play the toughest schedule or play in the toughest conference yet still made it to the championship game two years in a row. Point is we will never have a true champion because there is no playoff and teams like Alabama and LSU are too scared (yes, I said scared) to go play Boise state on the blue turf in Idaho. Yet, they'd turn around and condemn their schedule.
This old excuse of the SEC being so tough that they beat up on each other is old. When the Pac 12 or Big 10 or Big 12 does the same, that argument is tossed aside. How many times has Oregon been screwed out of the title game? Yeah, 'Bama's tough schedule this season includes powerhouse teams like Kent st, North Texas, Georgia Southern plus Vandy, Miss, Miss st, Tenn, and even Florida. Quite honestly, Boise st probably would steam roll thru every team on Alabama's schedule this season with the exception of LSU and Arkansas giving them a tougher game.
So, yes, IMO, the SEC is the toughest conference out there top to bottom but in a playoff situation ANY team can be beat. Pre-season polls pretty much guarantee that year in and year out that the SEC will almost always have a team in the title game especially with the BS, eh BCS, nonsense. Boise and Alabama/LSU is apples to oranges comparison unless they actually meet on the football field. Just ask Georgia how that turned out.

AMEN.....And by the way, just to show that you are right on many counts...Alabama and LSU have both turned down 2 home and 1 away with Boise St.

I would like to see a link if you got one.
I wished Boise State would make it to the National Championship game with any team in the top 10 right now, i think it's media driven...but it would be nice to get it over with once and for all.
I never seen anything pleg college football so much, to be so unevenly matched.
If they don't make it to the National Championship game they should get a BCS bowl game if things stay on course.

Why on earth would Bama or LSU travel to Boise? There is nothing to gain... If they win, so what, they should... if they lose then you've embarrassed... not to mention traveled a hellacious distance and the money Boise would pay them to play up there isn't worth it... Bama and LSU don't travel to anyone in a non BCS conference... No program that big would...

Thanks for the links...they should expose the teams that turn them down instead of saying nobody wants to play them. Once they do then i'm sure espn would run with it.

I'm sorry Boise State, but the ONLY way the Broncos play for the crystal ball is if they play 4 non conference road games in the SAME year. It doesn't have to be an LSU, a BAMA, or an Oklahoma. The year they play 4 non conference road games with quality programs (Penn State, Michigan, Arizona State, Arizona, West Virginia, Wake Forest, hell even a Houston to name a few) you will NEVER EVER play for the National Title.
And I factual information as to who turned down a home, away, home, with Boise State. That's BS! LSU would do it. Alabama would do it. They get a primetime game in front of the entire nation for FREE! Boise State's AD needs to pick up the phone and call the AQ conferences to sell the incentives of playing a Boise State. There really is not a down side. If LSU goes to Boise and loses (ha ha) it means we lost to a top ten team. Oh NO!
Boise State was cute 4-5 years ago when they weren't ranked in the preseason Top Ten, but now that they are they can't rest on their laurels, but actually go out and play a schedule that is indicative of a program that is fearless.

Another old tired quote. Give Boise State the money, facilities, exposure and tradition of SEC teams and they can compete and survive any conference. Again, apples and oranges.
Mind you, I am NOT a Boise State backer, fan, student or alumni. I live in Northern California and mostly attend, watch and follow the Pac 12. I'm just for giving every deserving team a true legitimate shot to win the title. If Clemson, Stanford and Boise St all end up undefeated, they each have zero chance at the title game if LSU/Alabama and Ok St also go undefeated. Every college sport including football's Div 1-AA, 2 and 3 rewards teams for a good season and crown's a true champion. D-1A only rewards those that are perceived to be the best at the beginning of the season. How did that perception work out for Florida State?
