How can the media so convincingly proclaim Tyson Chandler the Defensive Player of the Year

AND

The NBA coaches so clearly have Lebron as Defensive Player of the Year?.....note LBJ was on 1st Team all Defense and received the most votes......Chandler was on 2nd team all defense

Could it be that the media is biased and/or not a true subject matter expert when it comes to the NBA game

I feel LBJ may have been robbed of an objective panel ....man might of should of been defensive player of the year this year

For those that say no way

1.   Other SF shot 20% against LBJ this year

2.   He was top 3 or 4 in the league this year in steals

3.   Coach Spoelstra said and we witnessed LBJ guarding multiple positions this year....effectively

4.   Chase down blocks...which requires timing, athleticism, skill and speed....and he does this so well.

Media "hate" might of cost him this award.....can this award ever go to a non-center?

Folks probably hated on MJ during the 80s and 90s and found themselves on the wrong side of sports history as MJ was annointed the best athete of past 100 years

I think the media comes up with a story 1st......1st!!!!   then they gather the facts to make their story come true

All year long they hyped Chandler....Dallas lost him ...Knicks got him....wow look at the Knicks defense (cant believe I even wrote that...Knicks "D")

Media had a bias.....as far as my writing about LBJ......well I feel I am on the right side of history

LBJ is da man in this league right now in the NBA....noone does as many things as does well

But for the sake of this thread.....I think he got hosed by the media for defensive player of the year

I was curios what your response post would be...I was @ work and could not access covers.

I concede that Ibaka probably should be defensive player of the year..over LBJ.....but the coaches....THE COACHES...agree with me that LBJ is a stud on defense. Why did he get so many coaches votes as being a solid defender......the chase down blocks may be what makes espn highlights....but they have tracked LBJ all year and it revealed that SFs that he has defended revealed they shot 20% vs LBJ.......that is good ole fashion moving youir feet and contesting the shot defense....you may have missed that but the coaches did not.

Now you have to ask yourself why does the media cover this guy so much?   I think I know the answer....and you are right....I constantly post it on covers

the elephant in the room is that LBJ is to basketball what Hank Aaron was statistically to baseball.....he will break many records and/or be at the top of the charts across many basketball categories when it is all said and done.

As far as your comparison to KD...who I agree KD is a STUD.....LBJ beats him by far in efficiency rating...LBJ already has almost 5 of the top 10 most efficient seasons in NBA history.....the point I was trying to convey about LBJ and KD is

LBJ led the heat in pts, rebs, assts, steals and was probably 2nd on Heat in blocks.....KD did not lead OKC in all of those categories nor did any other player lead their team in that many categories....that , in my opinion, is the epitome of what am MVP is.

Why do I post so much about LBJ on covers......to offset the crazy negative and sometimes irrational (that was not a shot at you) commentary.....example....skip balyless espn 1st take said everyone is eligible for mvp except LBJ....STUPID irrational comment to me

Inside covers...folks have gone overboard with clutch....so I show up to provide factual stuff about the 3 time MVP

But sticking to oue debate....LBJ does more & leads the heat in more ways than KD does for the thunder.....the stats back that up

and dont give me that mythical media created clutch crap
