#4 Posted: 5/27/2012 12:13:44 AM Noway that line stays at -165 Kings. It will come down by gametime. Personally im still shocked that they are even favored. |

#6 Posted: 5/27/2012 2:16:27 AM LA is favored because they are 12-2 in the playoffs and are undefeated on the road.... they also have that record against the best teams in the west like Vancouver and St Louis. It took NJ 7 games to beat the panthers , and I don't believe they have gotten better because Philly's defense and goal tending couldn't stop a beach ball which is why they beat them in 5 and the Rangers were just worn down from all the shot blocking from the long season and all the playoff games. Besides Quick is a much younger goalie then Brodeur, and Marty hasn't had much playoff success over the past few years. If we have some OT games and if this does turn into a long series fatigue will definitely start to have a strong impact.
Prediction: Kings win in 5

#7 Posted: 5/27/2012 4:01:07 AM NJY had 2 regulation wins in 7 chances against the mighty Florida Pussies (& indeed, needed 2 coin flip OT results go their way to even get past those pussies).
That impresses you so much that the team responsible should be favoured over a team that steamrolled last years finalists (who happened to also be this season's President Trophy winners), and also steamrolled the best defense from this season (who also happened to achieve the 2nd= most comp points)?
I can see someone arguing how much of a Fav LA should be, but having a problem with the fact they're the Fav(/at minus odds), I just don't get it.
This team without Jeff Carter on its roster averaged 2/.00 goals/game (doesn't incl. OT goals). With Jeff Carter on the roster, they've averaged 2.904 goals/game (again, doesn't incl. OT goals). They always had the defense, but noe they got the offense too. This isn't the same team NJY beat twice early in the reg. season. This team has caught lightening in a bottle, and their coach paid his dues in the 0-3-04 SCFs. The saying goes you have to lose one to win one - Sutter has done that. What's the NJY coach done? |

#9 Posted: 5/27/2012 6:37:33 PM Devils are 8-2 in their last 10 and 10-3 in their last 13. Also You cannot tell me with any kind of a straight face that the Blues and Coyotes are better teams than the Rangers and Flyers who the Devils just dominated.

#13 Posted: 5/28/2012 1:01:39 PM Blue and Coyotes are complete trash, not even worth talking about.
Kings would never beat the Flyers in 5.
Not like it matters who you beat before at this point. Neither team is that great.

#15 Posted: 5/28/2012 9:03:49 PM The Flyers were rubbish on defense, a complete joke. The Blues had the best defense in all of hockey, and LA blitzed it. |

They could beat them but not in 5 games.
Even Devils would not beat them in 5 if they played again.

#24 Posted: 5/30/2012 10:28:48 AM IMO, the Devils best defense has been a suffocating offense / forecheck. LA's speed has a serious chance of negating that to a certain extent. |

#25 Posted: 5/30/2012 10:32:54 AM And for the record, these are the types of threads on covers that usually have a long shelf life once the dealing is done. And usually not in a good way, either. |
