#1 Posted: 6/4/2012 4:10:16 PM I heard LV residents can open a sports betting account at certain casinos and place wagers online or by phone. Is this true and how does it work? I have access to a LV address and phone number, would this work?

#4 Posted: 6/5/2012 3:31:21 AM I've been wondering though, how could one create an IP ID saying you're placing bets within Nevada? |

#8 Posted: 6/23/2012 1:40:46 AM you can proxy, but just remember if you hit big, theyll check everything.. I would be scared if I won and wanted to collect (you have to cash in person, with your players card and ID) Or have said person on account able to cash for you do the same.

#10 Posted: 9/12/2012 12:22:32 PM stations lets you do by phone which u have to put down a deposit for the pager.. but free online as long as you have cox.. and when u log into your account online you wont be able to surf the web..only being able to wager..williamhill is the best.. you can go to any pt's(bar) or sierra golds.. buffalo wild wings .. and deposit and be from your smartphone.. williamhill has like 150 locations but only con is that they dont let you bet past the last game .. so u cant do overnights until hour b4 gametime usually |

#12 Posted: 10/5/2012 2:23:06 PM Couldn't you have a computer in a vegas apartment and use a remote computing program that let's you control that computer which means it should show up as a nevada ip address? Since the vegas based computer is doing all the work and you are just controlling the mouse (and thus that computer) from long distance?

#13 Posted: 10/5/2012 3:08:13 PM As long as the bet is placed from the computer located in Nevada, it is legal.
The only thing is that it has to be treated like it is at that point: A business. Just because it can be done, doesn't mean that hurdles won't still have to be overcome. First, the max bet you can get down has to be high enough to be able to make it profitable. That is the real control that the books will always have. If you are a winning bettor, the book controls how much you make by determining how much they let you bet. Bettors think if they keep winning more, they will keep betting more. But this is only true to a point if you are a winning bettor.
Then of course, you will have the fixed expenses of running the operation.
You would need about 15k to properly fund a season in any of the major sports leagues. That would cover all of the overhead.
Luckily, today there are places out there that have high betting limits willing to take lots of action from all players. Of course, that means there is an opportunity for those who can take advantage of it. I am setting up a company to do something similar. If I had to go around from shop to shop getting down a nickel here, dime there, I wouldn't be able to do it. Plus, I'd go crazy. But it's a new world. |

#15 Posted: 10/6/2012 8:34:04 PM yeah maybe for the guy who just wants to get down his hilton picks. but for a lot of reasons it's not the right answer for the more serious minded investor. |

Professional runners don't bet at the hilton
Also, most serious minded gamblers use runners |

#24 Posted: 1/22/2013 4:12:35 AM why would they pay a percentage? and that high of one at that. if you have the ability to have runner, you have to be betting in the thousands, and more than 1 or 2 k. seems like it would be better to offer them a couple hundered a day depending on how big your bets are |

Most professional gamblers arent going to give some bum off the street a hundred bucks to place bets. Professional gamblers use intelligent trustworthy indivduals to place bets, and these guys charge 5% |
