You guys are really overthinking this one. Going up two TDs with under 2 minutes to go ends the game. No reason to slide in that situation. You want a guy with blazing speed to give up scoring a td to protect against a 1 in a million chance?
There would be equal chance that the Niners would "Pisarcik" it, as there would be for Miami to score 2 TDs against the best defense in the league in under 2 minutes with zero timeouts.
The only reason not to score would be if it still was going to be a one possession game.

so the niners covered with a pointless td and everyone who bet on them won, wasnt it the niners that screwed everyone not to long ago that bet on them, coach said he was unaware of the spread

Like vanzack said, he's a young kid, I don't blame him. Harbaugh should let his players know to go down when u have a kneel down situation possibility.
We saw the same situation in biG D on thanksgiving this year where the Deangelo Hall went down at the 2 yard line after taking the onside kick and running by himself with no one around, stopping 2 yards short of the goaline all on his own.
The Deangelo Hall play was a stupid decision. The only thing he accomplished was shorting himself one less lifetime TD, and stealing some satifaction from Skins' fans who would have loved another emphatic TD versus the hated Cowboys.
Hall fielded the kickoff with 18 seconds remaining and a 7 point lead. I think going up by 14 with 10 seconds remaining would have sufficiently iced the game better than sending the offense out on the field to take a knee.
Hall must have seen Westbrook go down short of the goal line(correctly, in that situation) and figured it was the smart move, without really understanding when it should be done.
He will probably look back and be pissed he didn't just run that in.
