I know how you feel. I do most of my own capping now. If you don't have the time, however, you either don't bet or you hire someone... with a proven record.
And I always ignore the GOM, GOY stuff. That's just marketing. Never hand control of your bankroll over to a handicapper.

#53 Posted: 2/3/2009 2:21:26 PM Chump - ofcourse we will both struggle to hit 60% - that is an incredible average - my goal every season is to hit 60% - that is like the holy grail of betting.
In regards to the guys who want to sound off about buying picks and handicappers suck etc - there are like 1000s threads you can vent in. You can even start your own I hate handicappers they suck thread in this very forum. Do you really need to bring that crap into this thread.
I will have the lines from Bookmaker up within the hour.

Should be a good duel between two top cappers and two very good businessmen. Teddy is awesome in NBA and while I dont think he has hit his straps this season yet, its hard to compare against his insane 18-0 (thereabouts) run last season. Your the football magician and have been killing NBA lately too. Two Canadians vying for American sport supremacy?
Tight spot here....My tip = Prez by a whisker as he is the better allrounder.
Anyway, take care mate. I'll have a Bondi Burger for ya!
Speak soon :-)
 Go PREZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

in response to this... i think people should be able to respond on each and every thread... the only reason i did, is because i think people should know that buying picks are very unprofitable... every picker brags when he hits 10 in a row.. but when they lose 10 in a row they dont say anything.. therefore it gives people the wrong impression.. i am not saying u suck or anyone else does.. i was just saying that noone needs to buy in to peoples picks.. it is just a waste of money... and 60 percent is not the holy grail when u are buying picks.... lets just say u bet 100 games at 100 bucks a game... u hit 60 percent.. that wins u 6,000.. but u lose 4,400... your profit is 1,600... but hang on... u have to pay for your picks. that is 60 picks at 35 dollars .. so that is 60 x 35 = 2,100.00
so take the 2,100 for picks plus the 4,400 u lost.. 2,100 (pick money) + 4,400 (losses) = 6,500.00 u only won 6,000.. puts u in the hole 500 bucks... but who comes out ahead ??? the pickers... just food for thought everyone, next time u go try and buy a pick... 60 percent is only good if u dont buy picks... if someone is selling picks they need to hit alot better than 60 percent... |

why in the world will u buy a pick if u are going to wager $100 on that game.....sorry brother but if u dont got time and u like to gamble it doesnt hurt

If I was scared and hiding, Prez, I wouldn't be betting you 50k in a huge, very public contest. Should be fun and entertaining for all. I look forward to making all of my supporters a few bucks along the way. Goooooood Luck, my friend -- you'll need it. |

#73 Posted: 2/3/2009 4:09:13 PM tomboy im not getting sucked into this conversation - but i will add that buying daily picks for a $100 bettor is tough - buying them weekly or monthly makes way more sense - that is it from me on this topic as obviously we disagree but you seam like a nice guy - so bottom line - i hope you win bucks.
Skirby - we don't keep records of the Free Picks as everyday the Free Pick is given out by a Guest Expert. I will say this and our regular listeners can attest, we win more than we lose and Teddy's info in the Wagerline segments of the show are pure gold.
Lines up in 2 minutes - just getting them finalized with Bookmaker. |

#74 Posted: 2/3/2009 4:21:18 PM Just for clarification, we have a guest handicapper giving a free pick on the show every day. Yesterday, it was Steve Merrill delivering a winner with Memphis-Washington Over 192.5 in the NBA (113-97 final).
Today, Alex Smart was the guest handicapper and he recommended a play on Cleveland -10 at home against Toronto.
Tomorrow, Marc Lawrence will be giving the free play.
Prez and I will start releasing one play every weekday for the 50 plays in 50 days for 50k contest beginning next Monday, February 9th. |
