Your statement is stupid.. YOU have no capacity to understand economics .
Obviously I'm not saying a pilot's salary should be a million dollars a year. But they deserve a heck of a lot more than they are getting. And CEO's should not be getting 10 million a year and up. That is ridiculous, your mind cannot grasp that.
Market force is baloney, you pay a pilot what they deserve for their profession, training, and daily risk taking. Not what a CEO decides after he takes his cut from the profits. Or you will get less quality pilots flying you and your family around, which is what's happening now with pilot suicides.
The airlines are not McDonalds. They are really under control of the government. Some countries even subsidize their airlines.
It wasn't until Reagan deregulated the airlines, trucking, etc. is when the middle class decline began, including pilot wages. Then greed took over and the economy finally collapsed under your buddy, G.W. Bush.

Each plane must make a decent profit on each and every trip. If they pay the pilots too much they will jeopardize the financial viability of the whole company and possibly the industry.
Do you even realize how much fuel a plane burns up on even a moderate distance?
A fuel efficient dreamliner would burn up almost $20,000 of fuel on a 700 mile flight. And those planes are the most fuel efficient planes in the air in their class.

Wrong again, as usual. every plane does not make a profit. Some make much more and some lose money. Some are there just to compete and not lose their gate slots.
More efficient planes now have only two pilots. At one time there were 3 in the cockpit, 2 pilots and a navigator. So they can function with 2, yet still want to cut more and more and more,.
You are just ignorant, as if I were talking to a child.

Cool it, no need to insult those you disagree with.

To lead I'll say I don't like "unions". I believe they once served their purpose, but they are unnecessary at this point in time.
Public unions are the most ridiculous concept going. Cities & states take our taxes and promise the moon and the stars to public union members when the money doesn't exist or the fancy term "unfunded liabilities" (only a government employee could come up with such a term).
Businesses that have to fund pensions as part of expenses are one thing, if they can't meet their obligations, they go out of business which should be the rules of the road. Governments hitting the taxpayer over the head and "friendly" officials getting contributions from unions members and votes is entirely a different thing. It ultimately breeds corruption and budget deficits. Then when the bill comes due and there's no money, people actually wonder why. It's a recipe for disaster.
Well stated Killer... unfortunately, the pendulum has swung too far to the other side. People gotta make something for "themselves"
Go find your place in society. It is not up to the Government or your employer to find that way for you.
