There is nothing President Obama can do concerning the Israeli–Palestinian situation that will not be criticized unjustly... I could never be the president, I hate and detest no win situations and I have come to realize as president you get hit with them regularly... A president has got to have skin of unmeasurable thickness. The jet liner shot down by pro-Russian separatists is the same as far as being a no win situation for President Obama. Do we deploy troops to assist the Ukrainians and risk world war? Do we ship pallets of money to the Ukraine? Do we send "military advisers"? Do we arm the Ukrainian military? Do we do nothing?
I sometimes wonder if the news media does not preplan criticism for all the Presidents options and wait for him to make a decision to see which criticism to attack his decision with.
I believe President Obama has created a few of the problems he has faced in office. But I also believe he has and is seeing more than his share of no win situations.
1. Fell free to get your panties in a bunch/wad/twist (your option) I did speak ill of POTUS about him creating a few of his own problems... sacrilegious... 2. And yes, Bush too!!! Bush too!!! Bush too!!!
But for those of an objective mind...
I don't necessarily feel sorry for President Obama, he had a chance to get away and came back for more... (In Texas we call that a glutton for punishment)
But it has to wear on a person to know whatever they decide is wrong. I personally think he is probably making the best decisions he can, especially when it comes to Israeli–Palestinian situation and the Ukrainian-Russian situation. He is getting information that will never be known to the public, information beyond the scope of most people understanding. I just hope and pray it is accurate...

I agree with you mostly. But a lot of times it really comes down to your advisors. Then if you have good ones they can help you be on the right side or make the correct choices more times than not, hopefully. But when you surround yourself with folks that don't know, or think they know, or have an agenda---I think they can put a president in a very awkward postion. I feel the last two presidents have had examples of this. Then you have to have a reputation in the world arena that is respected and your representatives that you send out have to as well. Then the diplomacy works better. But you are correct, it seems there are a lot of no-win situations that come up. The press certainly doesn't help either.

I agree- Most international crises,IMO , are beyong the control of a single nation- Actually most are not solvable unilaterally- Some of our presidents have had more political "savvy", so they come across as more credible, but I'm not sure that means more successful-
Every word is scrutinized and spun to suit their proponents and opponents needs politically-
The two latest examples you listed, IMO, are not solvable. I suppose, however, statements and opinions are demanded; this is where the problems start.... I always taught my kids- choose your words carefully, because you will own them. Same applies here-
Domestically- I think is a different story- presidents have the ability to direct an agenda at some level, so I do hold them more accountable for the outcomes....

Naw, Faux News wouldn't do that .
Goose... And you would give CNN a pass? While Fox might be the Grand Champion... I can assure you CNN has gone from a "Obama is always right, All Praise Obama"... To taking shots at President Obama whenever possible. They may not be as skilled as Fox, but they do try...
Sad part is CNN's swipes at President Obama are nearly as funny as Fox's asinine comments... Fox at least gives me a good laugh once in a while...

Rand: I seriously do not watch any of these shows anymore. Occasionally I get a quick peek while changing channels. It's ALL trash. Decided a few years back now that I'm not wasting my time with ANY of this BS.

Obama is responsible for the Malaysian passenger plane being shot down in the Ukranain...all Obama's fault.
Just like Obama is responsible for the Russian invasion and take over of the Crimea Peninsula,..all Obama 's fault.
If Obama was a real leader Russia would not have taken over the Crimea ..and then there would not be a separatistup rising in East Ukraine..and then this plane would not have been shot down ..
No one respects of fears America because of Obama's failed foreign policies....he has made America weak ..even his Secretary of State John Kerry's help is not wanted by Egypt to get a truce in the Israeli–Palestinian conflict ..
With Obama as president America's influence in the world is zilch...Obama is also responsible for rise of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant ..all Obama's fault...he pulled out of Iraqi too quick and allowed the void to be filled by the SISL ..this was all Obama's fault.
America has no clout in the world any more ...Obama says 3 years ago Assad must go .. President Bashar al-Assad was re-elected last month..
Central American children swarming by the ten's of thousands across our Southern Border ..all Obama's fault..
While all this is happening what is Obama doing you axe ..?..
Flying around the country to have lunch with every day people( White House's description ,,not mine) and holding fund raisers for the Democrat party...where he throws digs at the Republicans.
The country is more divided now than when it was 5 years ago ,,and that's all Obama's fault. But that's the way Obama want's it so he can pushing his Fabian agenda down the throats of the American people..
What Obama is doing to America is what our founders warned us about ..

I'm not sure how our president can be blamed for either crisis-
Israel-Palestine is an eternal conflict- So if he were "stronger"- what's he supposed to do? Say- ok you two knock it the fck off or we're gonna come over there and straighten sht out? That worked beautifully under GWB....
As for the airline tragedy- do you really think Putin cares who is in office? He's a rogue leader- if you want WW3- the sure- go after him- President Obama has imposed sanctions- apparently got their attention- but to pisture that militarily we will come and make a stand is foolhardy IMO-
I'm no Obama fan- but I will say he's handling these issues as well as he possibly can-
And for that, I'm appreciative and respect him.....

Putin saw how Obama handled the Syria crisis ....al- Assad don't go over this red line ...or you better not go over this new red line ...I warn you do not go over this last new line..Obama handled Syria badly ,,
Putin saw Obama was too weak to stand up to al-Assad so he was emboldened to take risk in Crimea..so when a similar warning was given top Russia ..Putin laughed it off and did what he wanted to do ..and no one is proposing Obama use the military ..because every time there's a crisis in the world ..the first thing Obama and his administration declares is..." a military option is off the table "..
With Israel /Palestinian crisis what Obama can do since it's working so well with Russia is to start throwing some sanctions against Israel and Palestine,, that ought to make them settle down ..or better yet ....maybe Obama can use the Obama Doctrine and make more apologies for America's past bad behavior ..
What I respect and appreciative Obama for his response to the situation on the border ...now even if you are not an Obama er that is something to truly be proud of ..Give me a $3.7 billion supplemental package to throw around or there's nothing I can do ...

NO president has had the media cover of this clown and to cry when he begins to get a shred of criticism from the media merely shows how thin skinned and feckless a "leader" he is.

Just like Faux news, Sara and Unesplanade, and Area51. They put down Obama no matter what he does but they have no freaking clue what they would do different. Now that is buffonish

So Slim- What would you do if you were president in each of the situations?
in many of these kinds of situations, my answer would be: nothing. it seems we start "doing stuff" and it only gets worse or is just a waste.
these people who worship out government and think it is the answer to so many problems, republicans and democrats, only make these situations worse.
as a corollary to the carlin principle, the average person probably knows deep down that he's incompetent at many things, it would be nice is he also realized out government is as well.

First... Good response... "We have to do something!!!" is NOT always true... Sometimes assessing the situation is "something".
Second and to all... (Actually not ALL, but for those who "get it"...)
WOW... When we get past the...
1. Any negative comment about Obama means you are racist 2. All Repusicans are evil, evil (and what ever other idiot adjectives you wish) 3. Bush's fault, did it too, did it first, etc. 4. Faux news, Faux news, Faux news
Brilliant, Brilliant, Brilliant talking points that illustrate such a vaulted level of wisdom..
There is actually a possibility for actual discussion...
Now back to:
All Faux news views are Bush supporting Repulsicans who HATE Obama because he is black...
