when you close the coal mines and send the textile mills to mexico, i'm not sure how anyone can be surprised that the "working class poor" become more dependent on the gov't. Also throw in the shitty education system in our country, and here we are

There are poor people on both sides of the political spectrum.
people vote for which direction they want to see the country go, if you are poor and on assistance, you have a ground level view of the failed policies of the current administration have wrought.
And I think that Democrats are seen as "moochers" because they feel that things like housing, food and health care are a right. While most Republicans do not.

Cool_Arrow, we can run with these numbers though.
Real Clear Politics..all polls ag. 7/28-8/14,
President Obama Job approval : Approval 43.8% ... Disapproval 51.3%
With those numbers,, I really doubt if President Obama could get re-elected today ...just 7 and a half months after he was re-elected to a second term..

Less than 50% in that county voted.
It may not make sense but you can't definitively say beyond a shadow of a doubt that the 1,279 Romney voters were all not on food stamps.
