But I'm almost positive Romney has assets in offshore accounts-

Not blaming him- if I could, I would as well...

I gave you two ways that he can successfully hide assets.  It took me 5 minutes, and I am not an accountant.

I did this in an attempt to show that it is not impossible to hide assets.

It is my opinion that Biden is an elite man that is worth a bundle off of the books.

I say this  to refute the assertion of his being the "poorest" senator in washington.  I think it is schtick.

There is no link that will show you how Joe Biden hides his assets via a foreign REIT.  If he ever becomes politically expendable, then I encourage you to check the huffingtonpost.com regularly.

The riff here is that you believe that Biden is an honest man that gives his time unselfishly in order to better your life.  I believe that he is a con man.....plain and simple.  You are naive, and I am cynical.

Neither one of us is right.  He is a politician, and they are a breed onto their own.

I guarantee you that Romney has large off the books assets...that guy has hundreds of corporate alliances, via Bane.

Problem is, he doesn't apologize for being wealthy......but Biden is in a postition where he must poor.....it is the political path he has built a career on.

Obama had 2 years to grow the economy not 4. The last 2 have been gridlock. Since the repubs have a deathgrip on the house what job bills have they introduced?

The fact that Obama has made it very clear he wants to raise taxes on the wealthy.

As far as the Bush tax cuts, I never said that was what killed the economy, it was the de-regulation and over-lending of the banks that led to the demise of the economy.

Now, the economy is now, has been, and always will be 100% cyclical.  What causes abnormalities is certain laws and regulations, much like in the Bush administration.  When Bush took office he was coming off a financially successful term with Clinton, and towards the middle of his presidency it took a downturn.  The beginning of Obama's presidency was the worst economic times in almost 100 years, and he didn't exactly stop the problem right away...within 2-3 years it will be back above normal.

There is no doubt in my mind that by raising the taxes on the wealthy they will look to move labor overseas and save money that way.  Many here have brought up the point of knowing what their effective tax rate is and I agree...90%+ probably do not know what that is...but does it matter?  They get reports quarterly on their investments, and ask financial advisors where they can cut costs and raise revenues since they cannot change the taxes.

With Romney's plan of cutting taxes ACROSS THE BOARD, the wealthy can maintain that level, and have the opportunity to increase their investments domestically.  Obama just doesn't have a clue when it comes to business...which is why he thought it would be a good idea to put the government in charge of a business (healthcare).

The government is a business, healthcare is a business, education is a business, national defense is a business, and so is hundreds of other industries.  Why would you ever consider putting one in charge of the other?  Let each industry run itself like it does best...you wouldn't ask Microsoft to run McDonalds.

The man had earnings of about $2.5 million over a 10 year period, before he even became Vice President.  Playing it straight or not, at best, (assuming his net worth is as low as he likes to portray it to be) he is financially inept.  At worse, he is hiding assets offshore or lying about his net worth to make him more appealing to a certain demographic.  Neither one makes me think he is someone I can take seriously when he is pitching ideas about the finances of this country

Hey Wake, heres a news flash for you pal.  Iam not jealous of any millionaire or billionaire or even a trillionaire.

What pisses me off about the fatcats is how they day in and day out cheat the system and dont pay their fair share. Why should a company be allowed to get their products made overseas with slave wages and then bring them back here and not have to pay an import tax.  Why are these fatcats so special that they dont have to pay this tax? Because they pay the politicians off to create the dirty loopholes that get them out of paying taxes. These are the kind of jerkoffs, you actually want to defend?

What about all the bankers and wallstreet people that caused most of the problems we are having right now, with their daily cheating of the system?  These are the dirtbags you want to sit her and defend?  If a person works hard and earns their money fair and square, good for them.  Its the fool i have a problem with, so if little internet trolls like you want to defend and suckoff these people go right ahead, thats your business, okay fatcat groupie.

So being jealous of these people and what they have doesnt even come into play in my mind. I have a good life and have many nice things, but i dont need to darn over my fellow man in society, just so i can buy more things. Maybe guys like you believe trampling over the little guy to make an extra dollar is okay, but i dont live my life like that.  At least i know when am on my death bed, i can look back on my life and know i didnt darn people over and gave back what i could to society.

I have no use for selfish jerks like you, so buzz off

DSN,

How could you not blame Romney for hiding his cash overseas, just because he can.  So you think the guy who wants to lead this country should be cheating the country?  Thats very short sighted.

You would think the guy who wants to lead the country would be at the forefront of getting rid of these dirty loopholes.

You cant have a functioning society, if you people with their whole mission in life is to cheat society.

Man i never expected that kind of post from you, makes me think somebody stole your account my friend

The abortion discussion at the end really hit home. Biden's a good guy. He believes in faith but does not force anyone to make decisions based on faith and is able to separate his faith from policy making.

Ryan looked foolish out there tonight.

Settle down CD...

What's the solution?

Bring jobs back home- with higher wages...which translates to higher prices for the consumer- when noone has the $ to pay.....

Hard to fault a company for improving their bottom line...

More taxes?

Less entitlements?

What's the answer?

Every politician is bought and paid for in our country, thats what a lot of people dont realize. The fatcats and corporations run our country, so stop thinking obama is running it or romney would be if he won.  You would have to be living in some fairytale to believe that

Romney has been in public office or tried to be in public office for how long?

The bar is higher for a public official. Nobody forces them to enter this deadly arena..once they do then the level of expectations are dramatically higher.

I blame the code and the cheat..just because there are ways to cheat does not mean you have to take them.

I watched some blurb on PBS the other day on some debate between Kennedy and Romney..I was shocked that Kennedy owned him so badly, it was years ago but Kennedy who I think of as just an average dope laid him out on the mat as he did.

Anyone in the public eye is open game to complete and comprehensive personal inquiry.

How is he "cheating"?

He is taking advantage of loopholes in the tax code- completely legal...

As many of your fellow citizens do given the opportunity...

Who cares if he's running for president...it's his money- his taxes...not my concern as long as he meets his obligation....
