Of any age !

Where and when are we failing each other in such a way that people become so loathe of life whether it's theirs or others, that they believe their actions to be justified and gratifying ??

Maybe we need to be evaluated by psychologists once per year beginning in elementary school (when we start to interact with large groups of people).

There are deep social issues at play. That is the point. Many people are suffering, and people act irrationally all the time. People do dangerous things all the time. People act out and lash out all the time. Flooding the country with firearms and high powered weapons just gives many more people that much more of an opportunity to do more severe damage than there otherwise would be.

bow, that's exactly my point!

For the third time:

Gun laws have no effect on the decision to kill a person or not, except for the very important fact that lax gun laws make it much easier for a person to commit such a horrible crime

..Should they decide to do so. Or should they have a moment of bad judgement, or in a moment of rage etc.

Some high school kid found a gun that belonged to his uncle and tried to shoot some random kids up at lunch at his school. They caught him a mile away from the school after the football coach chased him out of the cafeteria.

Bullshit.

If anybody needs to read that article, it's you.

I posted it for free thinkers not junk re-enactment.

Come on rick. It's not that long.

With all of the talk about the second amendment recently, I decided to present this article outlining some of the issues.

This is likely a much needed history lesson for those who have forgot, and for those who never knew. Hopefully this addresses some of the misinformation people believe.

It is not my fault if you either did not read it, or were unable to comprehend it.

It is already illegal to shoot people, Illegal to have a gun on school grounds, and illegal for a 17 yr old to own a gun.

The uncle has some responsibility for for not securing his weapon, but at the end of the day this kid stole a gun Illegal. Brought it to school Illegal, and shot it Illegal again.

What more little rules should we pass?

(the abortion forceps comment was pure gold)

Why do I get the feeling you are fading away into the obscurity of the right wing?

I hope we're not losing you my friend.

Sigh.

I have to say I was much more impressed with Money's willingness to take this issue seriously. Considering both of you (libertarians) had the exact same stance on the second amendment yesterday.

In case you missed it rick, this post is for you.

Hey disco so what do you suggest to fix the problem? I think we need spirituality, sociology and parenting classes to help children and parents. All of those people who committed those horrific crimes were severely mentally ill. We have the most strict war on drugs policies and I can find drugs by just walking down the street. If you make firearms illegal tomorrow. It just opens up an illegal market. If you were president what would be the first step to fixing the problem?

Alright, I took a look at it.  Lot of the same old arguments, and could spot the bias, even before knowing who posted it, or where it was written.

I disagree that there is another way to interpret the second amendment.

I do agree that it is not for hunting though, good point.

We should also talk about the fact that these kids are more medicated than any in history, with only rudimentary knowledge of the brain.

Medicated with the wrong medications.

I love psychedelics and marijuana. They both have made my mind free and happy. I practice spirituality and I am in great shape. I have a beautiful wife, family, and a great sex life. I trained my mind with education, knowledge, and practice meditation chakras.

The people who kill are in need of medical help and proper guidance. I think we need to change our entire way of life in order to live in a place where gun laws are no longer needed. Parents today are awful, the education system is awful, the government is awful, and the communities we live in are awful.

Properly educated people with spirituality, kindness, love, compassion, and peace of mind don’t kill others in cold blood. In order to fix gun violence we need teach peace of mind. What do I know right? I’m just a hippie "college indoctrinated" grad that's an evil green party liberal libertarian.

Here’s a guy who suggests the outrageous concept to liberals that a proper bringing up and parental guidance isn’t living in reality?

There is the real world, my friend.

The real world of self-responsibility.

The real world of having your right to self-defense.

The real world of keeping what you earn.

The real world of knowing that government produces garbage buy itself, and bilks and depends on the very people you ignorantly criticize.

One of you 2 guys is living in a fantasy world, my friend.

And it sure as hell isn’t him.

If you disagreed with what i said in post number 41? Then you are apart of the problem. The 1st bible was written on mushrooms and Christ was a Buddhist that believed in exactly what I said.

I take the drugs GOD put on this earth for us to find peace of mind. If your against what GOD put on this earth and against what I said then you are against what Yahshua believed in.

Buddhism and Christ consciousness is the way. We wouldn’t need guns or self defense if people believed in what I believe in.

The propaganda piece used a story of a 17 year old taking a firearm to school and shooting at classmates to pretend it is some sort of reflection of firearms ownership in America.

The perons who started the thread doesn't understand the difference between legally possessing a firearm, and illegally posessing a firearm.

You're smarter for not having bothered with the propaganda piece.

Thank you and what part of what I said was weird? Seems to me that all forms of any kind of spirituality are weird.

Doesn't matter.  The bad guys are still going to do bad things.  I'd prefer that the good guys have an opportunity to defend themselves.

And as for the deep-seated issues here, let's face it, they will never be solved.  Social media....video games....TV...kids/people are being bombarded by stimuli more and more every day.  I have a guy at work who has his work computer, his lap-top, his blackberry, his I-Pad and his regular phone....all up and running every day.  Are you kidding me?  Kids these days have no chance.  Economic issues.....more and more foods containing hormones.

This stuff is never going to be undone.  I'll take my chances as a responsible gun owner.

"When I carry a gun, I don't do so because I am looking for a fight, but because I'm looking to be left alone. The gun at my side means that I cannot be forced, only persuaded. I don't carry it because I'm afraid, but because it enables me to be unafraid. It doesn't limit the actions of those who would interact with me through reason, only the actions of those who would do so by force."
