This guy is an idiot beyond belief.

But they don’t need an additional incentive when gas is $3.75 a gallon, when oil is $1.20 a barrel, $1.25 a barrel.  They don’t need additional incentives.  They are doing fine.

It sounds as if Obama is claiming that the difference between the price of a gallon of gasoline and the price of a barrel of oil equals profit. What a moron.

the feds have a 65 cent per gallon gas tax

each state taxes gas as well. NJ by the gallon, most others by the dollar

i imagine we could lower gas by $1 per gallon overnight

that would be too easy i guess

we should invest in clean energy on an R&D basis only at this point until a viable silution(s) is found. Pouring billions into non commercially viable "solutions" is a road to nowehere.

Lets face it, we will need gas, oil etc for many years to come.

Does the CBO do forensic accounting?

Can someone provide a link that summarizes the Fed budget outlay? I am sure I could find it but feeling a bit too lazy right now and I have to go take a dump.

The point isn't his $1.20/1.25 gaff  ...it's President Obama is claiming that the difference between the price of a gallon of gasoline and the price of a barrel of oil = profit.......

well since the majority of the tax collected goes towards the highways, if we got rid of the gasoline taxes. How are we going to replace that money?
Oh i know, lets not have highways anymore.
Really how long does it take some of you to come up with these genius ideas?
I know i would rather being paying a gas tax, then having to pay another tax to replace the lost income that is generated if we got rid of the gas tax. The gas tax is fair, because its based on what each person uses. If you dont want to pay gas taxes, then dont use gasoline, its really that simple. ride your bike, take a cab, take a bus, use a skateboard, roller blades, walk or even use your horse.

Point is if you remove any type of tax that pays for something, that money is gonna have to be replaced some other way then.

First off...from state to city level spending is determined improperly and should be reformed....YESTERDAY.

States are alloted funding based on last years expendatures.

City's are alloted funding based on last years expendatures.

How do you think City's and States cook the books to make sure their funding doesn't drop from one year to the next.?

Yeah he wasnt meaning 120 or 125 right?

Some of you try so hard to bash Obama it is comical.

Eliminating the gas tax is a stupid idea..in fact it should be raised higher, we arent keeping up with road repair and replacement for over a decade, yeah lets cut the gas tax.

We talked about this last time, asphalt comes from crude, so higher crude means higher asphalt..so I guess we can let the roads to go sh!t and have to pay double when instead of repairing we have to do major replacement.

That kind of thinking is what we bash the government for..short sided and absurd.

Damn that sucks. I'm heading back to Vegas for the weekend. My cousin is flying in and I don't get to see him often. 

Thanks for the heads up though. I'm just getting into Rogan more and more. I've been listening to a lot of his stuff on youtube the last couple of days. Both from his stand up and podcast. 

Do you have any recommendations on anything specific I should listen too? 

Do you have any plans on going to Commerce in the next month or two?

Totally agree. Some people think because they arent driving on a highway in wyoming, so why should they have to pay for that.
Get rid of gas tax and we will just be hit with a new tax to pay for the roads. The money cant just fall from the sky.

Wall,

We don't need more cheddar for roads, we need them to quit repaving roads that don't need to be repaved. FACT!

States currently repave roads that don't need it on a staggering level. By not needing it, I mean they could wait a few years.

Come on with that..I know once in a while someone girl about some city paving roads when they shouldnt etc. This is federal funds, federal roads..not some local road paid for with local property tax dollars.

Im talking about both. UDOT is in charge of the federal road (I-15) that runs through my state. UDOT also plows the snow off of it.

There are many state highways that I speak of too. But it is usually the Federal road that gets repaved unecessarily.

So in your mind the Feds don't waste hardly any money on repaving roads?

Honestly i think some people are put here just to complain and girl about everything.

I have seen local roads get fixed earlier then they should, mainly because a politicians or somebody with connections.
As far as highway roads, 99.9 percent get done because they need it. There are so many bad highway roads, they dont need to do good roads over again for no reason.

CD when I see them repairing a freeway section that has very little damage it doesn't take an expert to figure out they are wasting money.

The fundamental method the government uses to set budgets is flawed and encourages misuse.

Next years budget is based off of this years expendatures. So if a smaller amount is spent and the year is almost up...projects are done that don't need to be done to make sure the next years budget doesn't come in at the lower amount. Even you would be smart enough to figure that out.

I work with a guy whos wife is a state social worker. He was telling me how her boss came to her and said they had to find a way to spend 30k for the same reason. The only reason they spent that money is because they didn't want to be short that money for the next year. Thats how its done all over the country.

Quit acting like you have to be an expert to do anything the government does. We all know the government has few 'experts' that help them do ANYTHING.
