I purchased a Droid Incredible about 4 months ago.  The phone is OK - I was more enamored at first.  I lost my iPhone, went w/ out a phone, and then came back to Verizon.

But I just saw an advertisement for Droid Apps and it reminded me of how disappointed I've been with their app market.

-getting that off my chest.  have a nice day.

Droid's all about being able to customize.

Apple software, on the other hand, is not open-source precisely because Apple thinks it knows what we'll need, and that we shouldn't bother tinkering with what it has provided.

Depends on your personal requirement, I guess.  I'd go for Droid everytime.  Just like my girlfriend would go for Apple everytime.

Sorry, you meant the Droid Incredible specifically, not Android in general.  Mix-up.

I understand that Apple is not open source.  But if these are the results in Droid's Marketplace, than I'd say Apple does know more about what their customers want.

I have a lot of mixed feeling about Apple.  But the iPhone apps continue to be easier to use and more innovative.  I really haven't found a single app I've been impressed with - had the phone for about 4 months now.

I think the ANDROID MARKETPLACE is the same for my Incredible.  Same apps.

let's see, where do I begin.

I was speaking mainly of selection.  I found iPhone apps much more appealing when I owned my iPhone.  iPhone has an app that turns your phone into a credit card machine (for small businesses).  I'm an editor and filmmaker.  iPhone has far more apps - conversion apps, bit rate apps, etc, - for that line of work.  I'm on my third Droid in 5 months.  Currently, several apps don't open up correctly whenever I turn my phone on (I just uninstalled them).  Did I ever have to uninstall a single iPhone app because of firmware issues?  No.  AND, my Droid DOES NOT allow me to write text in the THIS BOX at covers.com.  I have no idea why (but that's not an app issue).

I guess I find much more innovation in iPhone apps.

Personally I like the droid apps. Perfect for my day-to-day needs. Have a droid X...love it...especially being able to surf the net at 3G speeds on a 4.3" screen and watching NFL network, SNF, and MNF games on the go.

All the pilots at my job have apple iPads. Apple products are very solid. I'm not biased but personal experience has made me lean toward apple products, especially macbooks over windows based products.

ha ha!  Yeah, you go get that landline.  Seems like you're one of those people with a very narrow window of opportunity to impress or be pleased.

A year is a narrow window?  6 years of crappy cell phone service isn't enough of a trial period?  Now they charge for Shazam, which was free?  Still haven't found a Droid app worth having.

Gotta love all those taxes you pay!  Nearly 28% of you bill?  Yea, keep bestowing the virtues of your cell phone.

the reason apple isnt a  open source is so they can control the marketing dollars Apple is poised to get paid on the backend of all this market share.....

I personally and a PC and a Droid guy.....My GF loves her Iphone and Apple notebook thingy.....

Thanks for reminding me how many bigots there still are in our great  country.  I sometimes forget.

They say that "people" have a higher average income.  Probably from investing in apple stock.
