Saw the first two episodes of this new HBO series and must i admit i really enjoyed it.

I think most believe that McAvoy is losely based on Keith Olbermann, minus the fair and objective part. Some serious rants and anger going on ;-)

HBO must like it too, since they already renewed it for a second season.

It's a little too razor sharp if you ask me.  It kind of takes away from the show.  They need to dial it down a notch.

They try to hit grand slams with the dialogue at every possible situation.
Also, I'm relatively young (27) but it seems as they are trying to hard to be hip/cool to appeal young people with the dating and the young staff.
But, it is better than most garbage on television,

This last episode really laid down the smack on the right wing and the tea party in particular.

It did, and it was probablythe funniest episode yet. I am sure that if the writers want to take a more even approach (criticize george soros or other left wingers) they could. The one sided nature is irritating at times.

I'm sure they will.  Will is supposed to be a moderate conservative.

When the beginning of the Occupy Wall Street era comes into the series I'm sure we will see it.

i don't have any experience watching this show so my experience isn't very helpful, but yes, i have a paper i look at every day and their opinions about movies and television shows have been extremely reliable.  i'd rather someone else i trust watch a few episodes and tell me if it's any good or not rather than me waste my time on a show i may not like.

It's like intellectual porn for Leftists.  The premise (apparently to be repeated ad infinitum) is to set up fake right-wing straw men to be "torn to shreds" by the oh-so-clever socialists on the other side.  Basically, because nobody will listen to Air America or watch Keith Olbermann, the Left invented a world where people will listen to them rant all day.  Of course, people like Limbaugh, Beck, Hannity, Billo, Levin, Savage, etc. don't need fantasy worlds in which to draw an audience.  I wonder why that is?

i'd love to watch an intelligent show exposing what scumbags and incompetent fools are in the media and politics, but if this show constantly hammers the right and gives the left a free pass, i'm not interested.

Sofar it is hammering the right because it deals with the tea party a lot.

I actually hoped that the Keith Olbermann Show would be this sort of show - basically a nightly show where EVERYONE'S feet would be held to the fire.  Instead, after the election, he went off the deep end, pandering to the loony Left (let's call them the "War Crimes Trials for Cheney" Crowd), which is a very small percentage of the American public.  That's what The Newsroom is too.  It's a shame that everything has to be so partisan, as there are plenty of clowns to go around.

Well, they did hammer Clinton for repealing the Glass–Steagall Act (thus blaming him for the financial crisis) although it could be argued it was already "dead".

Guess he's what Republicans used to be like Eisenhower who'd be considered a bat garbage crazy liberal by the wing nuts who have taken over the GOP.

Who thought the egyptian reporter was going to be in on his own kidnapping to collect the $? I did, and this would have been funny as hell.
This show is a comedy to me. Totally left of left and claims that tv journalism is still relevant, which it is not.
Daniels' character sometimes approaches a level of respect but he dumbs himself down in a professional sense.

This is too one sided.
Can only imagine how you Fox-viewing right wing Americans feel when you watch this.
Boring for me to watch as I already despise the dumb fascist right wing Palin Christian fundamentalistic USA.

But guess it's needed as Fox News is considered TV news in the U.S.

This is just a continuation of a Democratic wet-dream like a tv seriesThe West Wing that ran years ago and cronicled the American utopia of a progressive administration, West wing=Left wing. This supposes a newsroom that is even more Mediaista then MSNBC or CNN.

Watched the first two and just cant get myself to keep watching..

Its seriously over the top and very very boring.

Too much drama between the producer and the lead, it isnt realistic and the fake tenseness between the outgoing producer and the incoming is also boring.

Too many big names, too much drama, it just didnt keep my attention.

The last episode was borderline boring. They are just taking real news and broadcast it again, added a huge chunk of patriotism.
