Comedy - Honeymooners (Forever Funny)

Action - Mission Impossible (60's... The endings were always cool).

Cop Show - The Rookies (70's - w/ Kate Jackson played a nurse/cops wife named Jill Danko - I wanted to marry her and I was 10, Ha,ha,ha)

Drama - Rockford Files (made me want to be a PI when I grew up)

Special Category - In Search of... (w/Leonard Nimoy) and the newer "Ancient Aliens" series.

This is a super tough one.

Without "All In The Family" nothing progresses. The BIGOT became OK.  It set standards for all TV shows and not just comedies. Dramas could be serious. It was a big deal and opened a place for everything we enjoy today. It broke barriers !!

The other great situation comedies in order would be from the 60's on .  Give me some 'Mayberry', "Van Dyke", Lots of "Beverly Hillbillies",

The 70's was when I got home from the Army so only a few shows stand out. I thought Mary Tyler and Newhart were worth standing down for  I would wait for them like I used to wait for "All In The Family" You could slow down a date and say let's watch this real quick.

"Carol Burnett"  just the best. Really !!

I used to be on a Thur. nite bowling team so "Cheers" was a phantom to me. I learned this one on replays.  Love it but it lived a life and found a new love called "Seinfeld". Best of the best until the "Office" came on.  The great love of my life??   "Arrested Development"  The best comedy ever.

just one mention of the Star Trek franchise is kind of suprising. longest running TV SciFi serial in history after the BBC's Doctor Who. BOTH very innovative shows. will also give a mention to the 1960's The Outer Limits too (newer ones, not so much)
