#684 Posted: 1/9/2012 9:54:34 PM I sold one card on ebay once. It was a Tomlinson rookie card that I surprisingly got from a box at KMart. Every box came with a rookie card that was graded and I sold the LT card for $75. |

I don't know. I collected it because I thought he may be related to Sammy Sosa. |

is this the card
I can't see any photo nor find one.
But it looks like that is the one. Mine is the #10 out of 10.
It has a piece of the bat and jersey from both players, it's pretty sweet. |

#692 Posted: 1/9/2012 10:00:01 PM I went through a faze where I got cards from the "Upper Deck UD Superstars" set. You got cards from all sports and the jersey cards were nice.
I got a Ivan Rodriguez/Michael Finley card that had both of their jersey's in it.
My best from that was a card numbered 243/250. It was titled "Legendary Leaders" with jerseys from Shawn Green, Wayne Gretzky and Kobe.
I tried selling that one but someone called me out on the price I put it up for. I didn't know the price of it so I just threw it up there. Needless to say I still have it. |

I was a kid and stupid. Me and Testo were there for the Ted Williams. I pulled it and the guy behind the counter was in shock. It was a 1 in 10,000+ packs type of card. He said i will give you $200 and this Mark McGwire/Sammy Sosa bat combo card. I jumped on it like you wouldnt believe. $200 bucks to a 14 year old is alot of dough.
The Mantle card it was me and my buddies buck and wig. It was a box of SP Authentic which ran about $200 a box. He opened a fresh box for me and it was a guaranteed 1 jersey per box. I had something like $160 on me and not enough for the box so i bought the packs one at a time. Got down the the end and didnt have enough to buy the rest so i opened the last one i had the money for and nothing. Bill at the card shack gave me the last couple packs because he just saw me waste all that money and nothing. Got down to the last pack and bam there it was. Halloween night. Remember it like it was yesterday. |

#697 Posted: 1/9/2012 10:03:52 PM That's crazy, did you sell the Mantle card to bill?
I wonder....if you buy one of the expensive boxes, do you think you'll always get a big card or is it just as much as a gamble as anything? |

#700 Posted: 1/9/2012 10:04:45 PM Powerade,
you dont always get good stuff in the "better" boxes but they have much better serial #'ed stuff, much more valueable stuff so its hard not to make out like a bandit |
