#26 Posted: 12/26/2011 2:12:02 PM I see some posts stating that this game has little relevance for one team or the other. Thats so far from the truth because if Atlanta wins out at worst they are the #5 seed, they could also get the #3 seed if they win out and New Orleans loses out, unlikely but possible. Some might say there isn't much difference between the #5 and #6 seeds but this year most likely the #3 seed will be New Orleans and the #4 seed Dallas/Giants winner this upcoming Sunday. I think thats an easy choice which of those teams is much tougher. With all that being said I'm teasing New Orleans tonight to -.5 with something else. If I had to pick one side without a tease I'd probably go with Atl. cause these teams tend to play each other closely and Atl. has a lot of the line, as well as New Orleans, but the way New Orleans has played this year at home I can't bet against them.
GL to all. |

#27 Posted: 12/26/2011 2:53:59 PM Leaning Under, may do a play on Atl also if line gets bet back up to 7.5, which it may since the public is hammering NO as expected.

#28 Posted: 12/26/2011 2:54:15 PM The points seem about right on this one considering what New Orleans has done at home and the way Atl has played this year. I recommend getting drunk before trying to watch Atl cover this one. Take the under and go to the new Sherlock Holmes. |

#29 Posted: 12/26/2011 4:14:58 PM really its all going to come down to Atlanta. I think we can all at least agree that New Orleans is going to come out and play with a level of intensity at least as high as they have played all year.
If you think good Atlanta shows up and matches their intensity then +7 is a good bet. If you think bad Atlanta shows up then +7 isn't going to do much good. The Saints would win by about 14. Really i just don't see putting my faith in a team that is so jekell and hyde. I can't get over the fact that Atlanta completely laid an egg in that first half vs Carolina when they had EVERYTHING to play for. They were lucky Newton turned the ball over two times in the second half.
I think there will be points so i already bet the over, but even though i think NO will cover i'm going to wait and see what Atlanta team shows up and just bet the second half. |

NoBetNoWin,
YOU and I are almost on the same page here! Matt Ryan has the weapons
around him this year to compete with anybody and they are a dangerous
team in a dome. The only problem with that is the dome in which this game will be
played is NOT in Fulton County Georgia. Division Title and
a NFL passing record on the line in Mr. Brees backyard... I capped this
puppy at 20 - 30!
With that said, put me down for New Orleans minus the chalk please. Thanks!

#31 Posted: 12/26/2011 4:32:54 PM NO fan here. I hate to sound like a homer but once again as I stated last week, to bet on NO is the first half. ATL may have a strong push but lookinh at their record on who they played, NO definitely will be twice as strong on both sides of the ball. NO has scored against very good "D"s in NY and Detroit.
I will agree that these two teams haave always played close but I do watch every game and this game is a statement game fo NO. Watching GB and other teams that has SB potential, NO is the healthiest ande complete on both sides of the ball and now they actually have a very gtood running game with SPROLES in the back, even w/ or w/out INGRAM, Brees has so many targets, ATL wint kn0ow from there head to their behind on "D".
As I said, this is a statement game, NO wins by 14+. They will have the lead and wont look back. The only concern I have is Peyton pulling Brees out in the 3rd after a big lead and a backdoor cover will sting you so NO in the first half is the bet. I'm leaning towards the under in this. WHY, I don't think ATL will score more than 17 and NO will be in the high 20's low 30"s.
First Half
NO Saints 21-24
ATL 3-7
Final Score
NO Saints 28-33
ATL 17- 20 |

#32 Posted: 12/26/2011 4:39:26 PM My thought process is a question you must ask yourself,
Is ATL as good as they were last year? Definitely Not
Are the Saints? Better for sure. |

#33 Posted: 12/26/2011 5:59:33 PM I say throw all that "nothing to play for" nonsense out the window with division games. See Philly Saturday which I pounded. And Atl actually has some room to wiggle.
Atl +7
