#8 Posted: 12/19/2012 10:13:45 AM Last three games, UL Lafayette, Jacksonville State, and FSU. Scoring in the 20's (and late at that) against ULL and JSU is supposed to give me confidence in their offensive improvement? |

#9 Posted: 12/28/2012 2:16:51 AM I may be a contrarian here, but I think the Gator offense is going to get unleashed in this game...they have a month to prepare...in the first year of pease at OC. I think this extra time will serve to be Boise like in the prep...Muschamp's D is going to play lights out from start to finish. I think Lou surprised a lot of people by defeating Rutgers.
I think Fla has a bit of chip on its shoulders for losing to UGA and sneaking into the BCS after UGA's near loss to Bama. I also think the C Strong angle will motivate Muschamp and his Gators to focus, and play hard and use a dominating performance as a springboard to the spring and next season...
I'll take Florida -13 - Superior D, Superior schedule, Superior talent, and Uber Motivation...maturing O under Jeff Driskell's leadership...I smell a good ole Will Muschamp blowout...
Prediction
Florida 45
Louisville 10 |

#10 Posted: 12/31/2012 1:00:14 AM Going with Florida is hardly a contrarian play, The SI consensus show FLA with 67% of the action thus far. In CFB ( as in life ), past performance is the best indicator of future performance but within a defined range ( most of the time ). The larger the pointspread ( like this one ), the larger the offensive production needed from the favorite. Florida, based on past performance, is unlikely to suddenly conjure up an offensive performance worthy of covering -14 against a competent opponent like Louisville. Can it happen? Sure. Will it happen? Unlikely. This games screams to play Louisville.

#11 Posted: 12/31/2012 2:08:23 AM combato - so you think louisville's D is demonstrative of the D's faced by this Florida Offense during the season...If I recall, FIU and other bottom 20 teams gave Lou good games this year.
Teddy Bridgewater is going to run for his life. With Pease as Fla OC's, they have the coaching ability and you know Driskell and the weapons on O, with a month to prepare, will be ready to bust out against a suspect Lou D. If Fla were playing OU or another premium team, I could buy your perspective. I think Fla will run the ball down their throats, interject the pass, and play shutdown D with several turnovers. Sure, Strong is a good coach and I commend him for staying at Lou. But, Muschamp is an aggresive SOB who is probably not proud on how the regular season ended. This is a spotlight game for Muschamp his Fla program. They made progress this year, but Muschamp wants to take it to the next level.
Call me a square if you like, but I think Florida is going to dominate in the Superdome from start to finish...Lou will get 7-10 additional points in the 4th, but Fla will cover this otherwise lofty spread...and I think the sharps believe that as well... |

#17 Posted: 1/1/2013 9:39:33 PM combato. u have had some bad plays lately. new years day was an easy betting day and u picked all losers. i think sometimes all of your stats hurt u. florida will dominate louisville. there d will not allow them to score more than 14 points. they play in a weak conference against some cupcake teams. take florida to win by 3 tds. |

#19 Posted: 1/1/2013 10:06:29 PM Florida had consistently whipped better teams than Louisville by a greater margin than 14.I'm just worried about the "We should be in a bigger Bowl" factor.I think Fla. is the play.
I'd like to thank all you who try to provide pertinent information to help us try to pick our "winners". There isn't a better alive who hasn't had a week where he won 5 followed by 2 weeks where he lost 8 of 10.The "you're a fugging idiot" posts serve no purpose.Read the posts and make your bet.I disagree with Combato at times, but I surely appreciate his effort to try to share an informed opinion.I've done a little better against the bookie since I've been reading here.I'm a 48 year (no bullshit) better. There ain't no magic formula. There ain't no 37 year old that the bookie's hate. There SURELY ain't no "Pick-for- pay" people who do anything except steal money from morons. Thanks again to all positive contributers.

Haha well said mak. There is no 38 year old daddy that bookies hate! Everyone loses sometimes. Combato was like 9-3 on bowls going into today everyone can have losing days. But I do appreciate combato, colonel Jim, and others that share informed and researched opinions for us. To the game I love Louisville here. I don't think they win but I think it's VERY close! |

#23 Posted: 1/2/2013 1:01:46 AM I think tonight's FSU/NIU game is a good indicator of what can happen in the LVille/Florida game. Awesome D w Florida should shut down a weaker slower Cards O. And is Bridgewater 100% healthy yet?? If he's not that's gonna hurt them bad against this D. I don't know much about the Cards D but I feel the Gators O is similar to FSU and has Louisville seen anything close to the speed Florida will have?? Cards hang but I just don't think they have enough late in this one (NIU was within 7 late in 3rd and driving to score before the to). Anyway just my insights. Good luck w your picks guys.

#25 Posted: 1/2/2013 2:40:27 AM Another win for the Gators easily, louiville struggled against cincy and rutgers, two teams who like to run the ball and if cincy had not had munchie at Qb at that time they win that game, LSU was recruiting teddy but fell off him because they know he cannot win these types of games. Gators had a tough schedule and driskel got banged up in the latter part of the season. With a healthy gator team and always furious D they keep the field short and the gators pound away. Teddy will throw some picks and gator nation will keep him rattled in the dome not to mention FLA track speed all over the super face turf in the dome, lou cant stop the run and FLA loves to run, lou havent faced a D like this all year and Rutgers would have won that game easily if they wasnt so shitty on offense and had a better qb. Muschamp shows no mercy and fla will take this victory and catapult them into the top 3 pre season polls next year. People have to realize that games like this show who you are as a team and i know one thing FLA is leaps and bounds better than louisville. FLA LARGE 45-10 just like someone posted earlier |
