Good luck with that prediction.  lol  Texas coaches with a month to prepare and playing 60 miles down the road in San Antonio.  You will see a prepared team for this one and heavy fan support.

And playing a Pac-12 team that struggled down the stretch to a 3-3 record over the last 6 games.  2-3 if you subtract the joke beatdown of a pathetic 1-10 Nicholls State team.

Texas is not a great team by any means, but they are certainly no pushover.  I've bet against them quite a bit this year, but assuming Oregon State will blow them out is ridiculous.  The Beavers don't match up offensively in a way that can over expose the flaws in the Texas defense and give them fits.

More specifically, if you wanna beat up on Texas, you must run the ball pretty well.  And 101st in rushing offense is something the Horns can reasonably handle while dealing with the rest of the offensive attack.

Don't be surprised if Texas wins this game outright, not surprised at all.

Three Oregon State football players spent Saturday behind bars following a brawl at a Corvallis bar.

Corvallis Police Lt. tells the

Line only down to -2 from 2.5. Anyone who can weigh in on whether this is a big deal for OSU would be appreciated.

The players involved in the brawl will not have a great impact on the Beavs. Only one of the players saw the field frequently which is Fifita, but the rest played sparingly.

In regards to Echelon1's post, while i agree that a OSU blowout is doubtful it should be noted that two of OSUs losses came against the best two teams in Pac 12 and top 10 nationally (Oregon and Stanford). OSUs running game does not rank  high statistically because they are a pass first offense. They can run effectively when they need to, they rushed forover 100 yards against Stanford which has an elite fron t 7 and gives up 87 yds per game average.

I know the word Texas conjures up delusions of grandeur, but Oregeno-We-Smoke-Too-Much-Weed-State is on too big of a high to be taken down.

I like oregon state here, texas has not impressed me in the least.  The 5-7 ats tells me they arn't much for meeting people's expectations either.  Close to home and still not much of a line advantage.  Not there year

Oregon state did what they were supposed to do this year, all year. Texas did not. Will that change for this bowl game? No. Mack Brown is done.

Ore state -2

texas has more than enough talent to win this game...mack brown's back is against the wall...if this texas team executes (like it has not all season) playing in front of probably 40K Texas fans (quasi home game), this game will not be close and Texas will show the college football world (and all of us homers) how they could have played this year...

no play for me...to many unknowns...Oregon St looked impressive beating UCLA in the Rose Bowl...but with a month to prepare, and focus, I think Texas can win this game and cover as a 3 point dog...

those of you who are backing the Beavers better do some in depth research on the talent and motivation of these two teams...this is certainly not a slam dunk for Oregon St...

I think the game should be competitive, not a blowout, but everything  I see favors Oregon State.  I feel the only reason the line is less than seven is because a lot of casual bettors still think this is the Texas of old so OSU backers are getting as edge on the points.  Texas is poorly coached, has a problem at QB, and a defense everyone blows out.  Anything can happen in bowl games after a month off, so I am not calling anyone an idiot, but there are a lot of homer comments on here that shouldn't be on a betting site....it isn't about what you want to happen.  I have no dog in this fight, just like to make the green.

I like OSU by 7-14 points.     3 unit play for me

Good luck to the OSU backers.

for those who think texas didn't do what they were supposed to this yr... i think if u asked the UT homers, they would say Texas finished about where we thought they would. 2 bad qbs that everyone already knew were bad, yet they finished 3rd in a conference with 9 solid teams out of 10. about what I and many others expected this year. it was looking in the beginning of the year that ash had turned the corner and could actually make this team a title contender, but he came back to reality. This team wants to get back to the top and always performs well in bowl games. UT will be more talented at almost every position besides QB. Be cautious in taking the Beavers.

Also, UCLA who is the pac12 south champ (4th best pac12 team) just took a beating by Baylor (the 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th best big 12 team depending on how want to decipher the standings). Both of the teams in this matchup are 3rd in their conferences. Edge to the big 12 so far.

I think this is a difficult game to handicap but I do think Texas is the right side here.  This is a basically Texas in a home dog situation ( which happens rarely ) which is usually a good play in CFB.  The SI consensus is approx 74% on OSU which points to a contrarian play on Texas.  Also, my money line sharp/square book indicator is pointing to Texas as well ( This indicator is 4 - 2 on the bowls and one of the losses was on Duke which was a bad beat ).  IMO, trying to handicap a game based on relative strengths of Big12 vs PAC 12 is a fools errand ( the only exception here may be the MAC teams ).  I will fire 1 unit on Texas unless there is late steam on Oreg St.

hey combato shouldn't the negativity surrounding the sexual assult charges on the Longhorns players adversely be a distraction. I would think this is a HUGE distraction for the Longhorns?

Longhorns -3.5
The McCoy/Ash scandal won't effect the game at all.  Regardless, Vegas was forced to protect themselves by moving the line from -2 to -3.5 because the rumor enticed "average joes" looking for an edge to unconsciously slap all their chips down on the Beaves.  Well, I'll take the vital point and a half and run with the Home doggz.

PS- not a homer- i live in NYC
Which I can tell you that Pinstripe bowl is going to be played in 30 degree sleet snow/rain...take the Under regarless of their D's and sit back and let mother nature pad your bank account.
