Just to start a dialogue.......tell me where you as a horseplayer can't gamble. Example for me: Arlington's polytrack surface and to some degree the grass course. I just have seen too much variance in form on their poly while the lawn goes from firm to bog in a heartbeat.
Also, I have a strong distaste for the Laurel dirt course.

NYRA dirt races before the big boys come back to town. in these short fields where Rodriguez has one or two and Jacobson has one or two come on what's the point.
either they have some piece of crap that's 3/5 because the whole world knows its juiced up or they have some piece of crap off the claim that magically pops 20 points on their speed fig.
or the jacobson gem . . . . . . a horse on its 4th spin in six weeks and you have to guess if it will react favorably yet again to the juice.
just pass. handle is the way to send a message. don't bet dirt NYRA races until there are bigger fields and those two criminals don't have as much dominance. don't bet the turf until they get to Belmont though with turf Rodriguez and Jacobson have small roles.
i'm not betting much CD this year either. in the verticals they raised the rake/rape. though i admit i do like CD mainly for turf and the 7/8ths races and one turn miles. won't have much time for it anyways.

I played Mountaineer a few times because all the other tracks were dark. I even got the PP's. Horses with speed never got out. The closers were the ones that showed speed. That and the fact you had to listen to that guy and girl that live this but never came up with anything. Very odd track imo. Never played it again.
Used to go to Cal Expo for the simulcasts. After the thoroughbreds were done you could usually play Las Al quarters. Stuck around a few times and oh man that brings in a whole new type of gamblers that I have have every seen. Just like the Del Marsimulcasts these freaks would come in to play the quarters.

Just like the bull ring at Fairplex. A you ever make it to Caliente? What a nice looking place when you walked in. I was to late for horses but they still had the dogs.
For those who READ the book Seabiscuit you will know what I am talking about.
When the area got flooded which mountain got moved?
