I am a big fan of HBO and belive they are the best boxing network on the planet by a country mile, but now with the decision to put an end to doing buisness with golden boy promotions and all of their current fighters, I belive this could be a crushing blow to the network as far a boxing goes, they already lost mayweather, now have just lost hopkins, broner, alvarez, danny garcia, khan, rising star keith thurman just to name a few, who wins? showtime for sure as that is where most of them will be heading or if ESPN was smart the would up their boxing payroll which has been drastically been cut over the years and take advantage of this as well, on the up side a great fighter like nonito donaire will be able to be marketed 10 fold, all bob arum fighters will get a boost from HBO is this case, and big don king and his network which I alway's liked will snatch a few of these fighters as well, which is good as I think that the colonel bob sheridan is one of the best blow by blow guys to ever do it,  but in the end not a good thing for boxing when the best network loses most of it's top guys,

Great point. They could probably get these guys at a discount, but in the long run it could be worth it for the fighter because they would gain ten times the exposure they get on HBO.  That would be great for the sport too.

I agree, I remember when we used to see A level fighters on ESPN, johnny tapia, stevie johnston, judah, corrales, tarver, morel, spadafora, castillio, james toney, vassilily jirov, montell griffith to name a few, but since the cuts, which was obviously done becasue ratings were down, friday night fights mostly consists of C level fighters, B level at best, they have another shot at becoming elite again and in the end I think they will.

I also forgott to mention, mark johnson, vinnie pazienza, paulie ayala, and a strong B+ level guys like mickey ward,  and emanuel augustus(augustus could of been A level if he had a better promotor and manager for sure),  with ward and augustus being regulars on the show and even fighting on it in one of the greatest fights that I have ever witnessed in my life, lets bring it back ESPN.

TERRIBLE move by HBO.

No Lucas
Danny G
Broner
Floyd
Khan
Abner Mares
Maidana

more and more

HBO is making a colossal mistake,.

I like HBO drawing a line in the sand.  No more bullshit, no more Al Haymon holding them hostage with great A-sides only to line them up with shitty D-sides.

Also other guys like Dibella will get more love....more money in the budget instead of paying Andre Berto 1 million to fight Freddy Hernandez

I get the sentiment that it creates some garbage....it does

But this was happening anyway, w/o HBO saying anything.

And then maybe Epix gets more in the mix instead of being Euro fighter exclusive

Either way TR fighters were for the most part HBO and GB Show

I like HBO speaking out here
