Full Tournament:
Crane +130 o Bradley
McDowell +120 o Furyk
Jacobson -115 o Oosthuizen
Moore -110 o O'Hair
Karlsson +120 o Poulter
Leishman +135 o Bjorn (2u)
Romero -105 o Vegas (1.5u)
Furyk -105 o Fowler

Round 1:
Rose -115 o. Oosthuizen (1.5u)
Wilson -115 o. Villegas
Petterson -115 o. O'Hair (1.5u)

Every once in a while you know how you get that gut feeling that there may not be that much statistically to justify?  This week I've got that feeling about Graeme McDowell.  I wish I could get better odds on him, but I'm putting a small amount that would pay 3 units.

I hate betting both on and against somebody (Furyk), but the Fowler fade at -105 was just wayyyy to good to pass up.

Remember last year when they first came back to FL and the high pollen counts?  he struggled and I think even withdrew from a tournament, if I remember right.  Well, the pollen counts are supposed to be high again.

I guess I'm not sure how to take that stats.  If I've posted something that's offended you, or anyone else, I can assure you that's not been my intent.

I live in IN, unfortunately not FL.

I'm actually not new, I was around a long long time ago.  In fact, it was mostly me and lifemisspent (he was expo something or other at the time, and actually is a pretty good golf capper when he puts his mind to it a posts something other than his wild behind longshots) that got covers to start the golf forum, back around 2002.  I took several years off when it got hard to move money offshore, so my original account lapsed and that's why I appear as a newbie.  I couple years ago, I got hooked up with a decent local that takes golf, so I started lurking around here again.

Back in the days that I was on here a lot, some of the big names I can remember were:  Wantitall4moi, McNabb, and Clyde.  There were a couple whose names I can't remember - one was a retired HS baseball coach that was very good at bases, and there was a guy that was in the service and got called away to duty, I think his name was redsoxwin (or redsox something), that was ABSOLUTE MONEY in tennis.  He'd post his plays and move lines like crazy.  The very few of us that really followed him made a killing.

Next time I get a gut feeling, maybe I'd better just hike my leg and fart.

I was close to making this play based on the numbers alone, but scared off by the juice.  Now that I've seen on tv Els miss two putts inside 10 ft., each by nearly a foot, I'm gonna pull the trigger:

Schwartzel -145 o. Els (1.5u)

Full Tournament: 1-2-2, -1.43
McDowell +120 o Furyk
Leishman +135 o Bjorn (2U)
Romero -105 o Vegas (1.5u)
Furyk -105 o Fowler
Karlsson +120 o Poulter

Round 2: (4-1), +3.2
Petterson -130 o O'Hair
Fowler -130 o KT Kim
Wilson -130 o Villegas
Rose -115 o Oosthuizen
Schwartzel -145 o Els (1.5u)

Petterson never trailed til the 18th hole today   But, Leishman made a nice run in the last couple holes to save me a couple units and help even out the last hole shannanigans.

Close to another sweep today, looking forward to the weekend!

wish i had seen your thread earlier...good luck tomorrow my friend. we have the same picks.. what do you think of the value on rose +135 vs mcilroy? i mean, i know rory is on fire but rose has been playing well in the 1st two rounds... seems like too good of value to pass up? and what do you think of the ben crane vs mcdowell line? mcdowell may have gotten his game back after that 2nd round  will appreciate any input...

I really like Overton, and Huh (bigtime) .   I really don't like Love tommorrow, just think he may press (breakdown) with any early trouble he runs into.   I'm also on Bradley to win @ 11-1 and Walker @ 22-1.

GL with Overton and Huh...

I don't really like Rose at all for Sat., but if that ends up being the same matchup on Sunday, I will look pretty hard at him. I use H2H as a one of my key stats and in the last year Rory is 5-0 against Rose in rd3.  That reverses in rd4, where Rose is 4-0.  For the entire tournament, McIlroy is 10-2.

McDowell and Crane, to me, is a coin-flip.  Both have success here, and both when they get hot can put up some low numbers. I have really liked them both for this tourney and wish they weren't matched against each other, 'cause I'd be looking to play on each of them.

If I do add a dog, it's probably going to be Dicky Pride over Vaughn Taylor.  The only thing that's kept me from pulling the trigger on that one so far is the fact that Pride is paired with Rory, which will be a huge crowd pairing while Taylor is with Harman, a pairing that is more likely to slip under the radar.

I made these plays last night before I watched some of the coverage.  And from what I saw, I started liking Love less and less.  What I do really like though is that he tees off 2 groups in front of Duke and is paired with McDowell.  I really like McDowell and I could see that pairing being one that gets hot and feeds off each other today.

I think that's a mistake.  He's looked pretty good, but he's played a lot this year.  I do think I'll lay off him until he takes a week off.
