I am pretty sure you are talking about a switch, not a splitter.
You would have to select which of your HDMI sources (blu ray or Wii) you want to feed the input on your TV, and this is done with a switch.
I have a very large HDMI matrix where I have multiple ins and multiple outs. But yours seems very simple.

Mine is remote control.
I have many possible inputs that feed 4 60" flatscreens in a cube. I can select which input goes to which TV by remote control so I don't have to get off my butt to make the switch!

$30 is way too much for a switch. They cost like $10 or less on Amazon or Ebay. You'll get it in like 2 days.
They are automatic and switch according to power. Like keep cable box as your primary, and whenever you switch on something else it changes.
