Going to jail over a marijuana is a got dam joke in this state (TX). Im sick of federal government interfering in peoples private lives. Isnt this what the Constitution is all about "civil liberties" as long as im not hurting any one i shouldnt be thrown in jail. This whole war on drugs is about Racism and its failing. I know its about the money but if its really about the money wouldnt the state legalize it and regulate it like they do alcohol and tobacco. We all know marijuana is proven to be the BEST alternative, i wouldnt call it a drug because drugs kill right? (alcohol, tobacco) I have 3 misdemeanor charges for small amounts but in a "perfect state" my background is clean. Im just tired of having to pay fines and fees for non-violent crimes. As a black libertarian i think texas needs to secede the union and stop following and start leading.

I agree it's dumb but it's a rule so don't break it where you can get caught. There are a lot of stupid rules.
Honestly if you live here in TX and want to be open about pot I'd say move. We still have dry counties so I doubt they'll ever legalize pot to make $ here.

Nowhere in Constitution does it say anything like this: Isnt this what the Constitution is all about "civil liberties" as long as im not hurting any one i shouldnt be thrown in jail.
Other things like this---like gambling
What would you rather do for nonviolent crimes than pay fines and fees? Do hard time?? Still a crime. Lotta things I might like to do that aren't hurting anyone but are illegal. If you don't think it hurts some people ask the ones that get shot over weed, lose good jobs (or can't get them) etc.
So, since it is not legal for taxes it isn't about the money. Lotta whites have same issue, so it isn't about race. So what is it about? Maybe it is just about trying to keep people from using weed and selling it? Since when is a definition of a drug something that kills you?
Never understand why so many folks want to 'relax' or 'chill out'. What is the point in having to get under the influence of anything to enjoy life?
Folks even say weed isn't addictive. Of course it can be, psychologically at least. Because I have known people that get second and third chances, yet still lose great jobs because they cannot stop smoking weed.
Eventually even Texas will legalize it though. Big push all over. Just hang in there and don't carry it around. Do it at home, etc.

Dumb rule for sure. But it is a law and we all know it. I do not want to drive the speed limit on a deserted highway but I know that if I go over the speed limit and get caught than I have only myself to blame.

The people of Texas have the right to make any law they want that is constitutional (and banning a substance doesn't qualify). If you don't like it, you have the right to move to another state. Or, you can stay in Texas and face the consequences.

You're much better staying in Texas than moving to a place like California or Colorado which is filled with millions of illegal criminals and fruitcakes.

I was thinking about colorado but yeah its to over filled. I heard Arkansas is trying to decriminalize/legalize it. If Arkansas does in fact do this i wouldnt mind going there. That way i can still be close to my family here.

You are considering moving to another state---not for a better job or anything like that---just so you can ride around with weed in your car? Wow.

honestly these are some of the same people that think it's ok to resist arrest and wrong for cops to do their job. Are you surprised that this is their level of thinking? Just saying...

Yup.
Pretty simple: Play by the rules, move somewhere the rules are different, or pay face the consequences if you break them.
In the mean time, you can also devote your life to changing the rules if you like.

there is a lot of paranoia and misinformation about marijuana...
that is why people that have done it or are even personally familiar with it probably shouldn't be dictating to everyone in a state or the nation laws and government policy concerning this substance...

I definitely don't support that and didn't know that was what he was doing.
If I smoked, I wouldn't take it out of the house. And if I was taking it with me to a mate's or a party, I'd put it in some inconspicuous in the case I got pulled over for something.

Too much money involved.
It's also the way the U.S. Government launders and funnels its money to whatever they want.
