busy week for this newsletter.

apparently, the "god of second chances" isn't quite the christian family values god that the well, other god, is as mark sanford, who we all know is the married christian family values ex south carolina governer who diseappred from that governor job and his wife and kids to cheat on his wife with some chick from argentina, in argentina, (likely using public funds in some way) who is now, of course, embraced by the christian family values republicans as he runs for congress, as what else but a rightwing republican.

or, just another day in rightwing family values fantasy land.

who wants to bet that if this guy wins and has more access to public funds, he'll make his way down to brazil in 2014 for the World Cup.

You are like a cat that chases its tail....

sorry, I don't say I don't "believe", I say I don't know, and I'm fine with that...

you thinking you do know, is arrogant...

but, what I don't believe...

-is that if you don't believe in "god" you go to this fiery place and you are tortured for eternity

-or that a man died and the rose again

-or a man was born from a virgin

-or a man walked on water

and so on...

what I do know...

-is that people believe to make themselves feel better

-or pretend to believe to back their own agendas

-or believe because they just aren't that intelligent

in fact most people don't truly believe, because if they did they would be living there lives a lot differently (including you).

so you can stop your judging and leave it to your make believe "god"....

religion = crock

When the critic says there's no God he's basing this on his own insight, and unless he has insight into 100% of all knowledge he can never be sure he's right.

Me: I don't know how the universe actually began. What I do know is that there was a big bang that started it all and over the course of about 14 billion years, the universe as we see it today slowly developed leading to life on our planet, which evolved into everything we see today.

Rostos: I know how the universe actually began. Since it didn't pop into existence out of nothing, the only explanation possible is that a supreme being (that popped into existence out of nothing?) created a big bang that started it all and over the course of about 14 billion years, the universe as we see it today slowly developed leading to life on our planet, which evolved into everything we see today. (For some reason, this supreme being decided he wanted to create a universe in this exact manner at that exact moment and then leave it alone for 14 billion years...and counting)

Tell me about this "big bang" and how it started it all.

I trust your understanding of how things were going down 14 billion years ago. You seem like you're capable of time travel.

From Wikipedia

Atheism is, in a broad sense, the rejection of belief in the existence of deities.[1][2] In a narrower sense, atheism is specifically the position that there are no deities.[3][4][5] Most inclusively, atheism is simply the absence of belief that any deities exist.[4][5][6][7] Atheism is contrasted with theism,[8][9] which in its most general form is the belief that at least one deity exists.[9][10]

I do not believe in deities. Therefore, I am an atheist. ARGUMENT. OVER.

Talk to the scientists. They can explain it far better than I can. Google can provide you with ample information.

But if I'm right believing there is a God, having accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord Savior I go to heaven and live happily every after in everlasting eternal blissful paradise, whereas you go to the place of eternal punishment for your sins.

But if you are right there is no God, then we won't know anything about it because we are going to be just as dead as doorknobs having no conscious awareness that we are now in the state of non-existence.

Either way I'm better off believing there is indeed an Almighty God, Creator of the universe and everything that exists.

What if you believe in the wrong god? And the actual god is really pissed that you didn't believe in him?
